I outlined everything from the Samoyed logo UConn is most known for to the mostly white mascots from the first brown and white dog and the white and grey Samoyed mixed in. We've done this thread so many times already. We really didn't need another thread from you showing you don't know what a wolf is.
Lol, man you are so melty and so committed to crap up another thread with your nonsense. Oh well, I'll go with the flow...

So here is Jonathan IV another white UConn Husky mascot who is not a Samoyed:

You have to respect that first three white husky mascots all attacked the other team's mascot but it is hysterical that J IV growled at opposing players after they scored a basket.

You keep posting pictures of the mascot, which is not what the debate is. The mascot was a white husky, the logo they used is a Samoyed
Nope, out mascot is white husky. The Blue Wolf (@superjohn) is clearly not a white husky. That's not hard to understand right?

Keep those "happy dog" logos for the household pet photos people print on t-shirts for Christmas presents and I'll go with the Blue Wolf to strike fear in the hearts of our opponents............
Well yeah, if people are scared of clip art...

Not melty at all, just pointing out you're a fool. He's still doing it @navery12

Not to foul the waters further, but it says he was a Siberian-Eskimo-Samoyed mix...?
This genius can't even tell the difference between a Siberian Husky and a wolf, you're going to make his head explode.

Uh oh, the name calling starts, lol, someone's upset. Maybe this picture of Jonathan VI, who is also a white husky and not a Samoyed, will help:

I feel like this would be a funny video for Caleb Presley from Barstool to do... “The great UConn debate: white Husky or clip art Husky?!”

Creates a thread about which logo Husky fans like best just to gaslight...
But the logo so many long for and associate us with was a Samoyed. Most people have no clue about or have ever seen the actual Jonathan dog which started off as a brown and white dog and was mostly a white dog since with another white and grey Samoyed mix as Jonathan. There has never been all that much consistency with the logo or the actual dog. We rebranded to a Siberian Husky which is the UConn logo and Jonathan going forward, no clue why CL82 keeps doing his dumb blue wolf routine when the logo and dog is clearly a Siberian Husky and not a wolf.

Except in only strikes fear in the hearts of the children attending games...

Nah, you are just crapping up another thread because you obsess about this issue. It's what you do. Here's a secret John, it entertains the crap out of me how personal you take this stuff. Why not just agree that we've had a white mascot since 1935, and that the "Blue Wolf" logo what a departure from that tradition? Is it because you view the white husky as a "symbol of the establishment" like students did about Jonathan VII?

As a graphics professional, my opinion is that the 80s-90s husky is more "clip art"y than the current one.

No matter the breed or the color, we have an awesome mascot. Better than the likes of Michigan which has what, a capital m.

It's worked really well so far... Lol. Teams have been trembling in their knickers seeing the vicious wolf eyes on our helmets.

That said, they are cool uniforms.

I've always been perplexed by SCs gamecock logo. From any distance you can't tell what the heck it is.

This little pissing match w/ John and CL posting husky pictures may be the most entertaining petty war we’ve had on here since the GLeague arguments

Really? The Championship Husky is unique. Variations on the Blue Wolf are pretty common. But as I have said many times previously, I'd be fine with the current logo, if it were a white husky, keeping with 80 years of tradition.

Thanks. John mucking the thread is unavoidable, so it might as well be entertaining right?

The 80s/90s is the one for me. With the dominance of women's basketball and our multiple championships, the logo looks non-gender to me. The new one tries to look masculine and more of a computer gif.

The 80s/90s looks like true art, and a beautiful dog. Everything is defined nicely. The black background circle is awesome at highlighting the Huskie's feature. Looks better than the grey highlights on the 2002 logo. Love the mane looking hair also, which offers enough masculinity for those looking for it. The new logo's mane looks like a unrecognizable cut out of blue and the Husky actually looks like its laughing.

Just saying the 80s/90s logo looks like a real husky and has my vote.

You're missing the point. We all know that some of the prior mascots (the actual live animals) were white huskies. What we're trying to get you to understand is that the actual artist who did the '80s / '90s logo has openly stated that it was a picture of her pet samoyed. So your "samoyed husky" and "championship husky" logos are not huskies, they're samoyeds.

Not some, all. All of the mascots since 1935 have been white huskies. That is the point. The most recent one deviates from those 80 years of tradition. John is showing surprising restraint here (well, for him at least) and I thought I wasn't going to have a chance to post the rest of the Jonathans. So thanks...

(Oh and take a look at post #55 in this thread. I am well aware that a student artist used their dog as a model for the "Samoyed" Husky, which is why I referred to it as the "Samoyed" Husky. Regardless our mascots have been white husky breeds since 1935. The current logo is a departure from that.)

Man, you are thick headed. And wrong. Not only did some of the pics you posted mention that the mascots were husky/samoyed mixes, how do you figure this is a white husky...? The current mascot and logo are Siberian Huskies.

Lol, yes they are but the most recent one deviated from 80 years of tradition of white huskies like:

Jonathan IX / Jonathan X
