The original or the sports bar and grille?I see a couple of posts regarding golf being a piece, as in their own golf game. I was thinking along the lines of “watching” in my list but would agree my golf game would jump up on that list no doubt. In many golf trips to Myrtle, Ocean City, Virginia, Plymouth for late fall or early spring my plans always were around any UConn games during the stay and play. If we were playing 36 a day but UConn had an afternoon game on a weekend I was only playing 18, no chance they could talk me into 36. About 4 years in a row in Ocean City the manager and bar tenders at The Green Turtle were prepared for the “UConn guys” for weekend games, had our tables and large screen. It was a well known Terps bar but they welcomed us with open arms and full fridges.
They will fire Boone and keep Cashman for a few more years I'm sure. Both NY baseball teams spent a ton of foolish $$$1. UConn basketball
2. UConn football
3. Fantasy football
4. Pirates baseball
I’m in protest of my Yankees until they fire Brian Cashman, started watching the Pirates ~2 years ago.
Yeah, I’d rather play golf than watch anything but a UConn game or Pats game. Wouldn’t miss Red Sox playoff games either.I see a couple of posts regarding golf being a piece, as in their own golf game. I grew up a Mets fan starting in '64, so I'm used to a certain level of masochism when it comes to baseball rooting interests. And I have an excuse for following the Pirates - I've been living here awhile. Why you'd choose to follow the Pirates after being a Yankees fan implies there's something very, very wrong with you.4. fwiw, Yankees should trade for Bednar (i'm strongly in favor of selling high as I think he's close to finished as an elite reliever).
The original up on Coastal Hgwy not far from the DE border. Always stayed up that way as we played both in Ocean City and DE.. Was a fun place they enjoyed our passion for the Huskies, and cocktails (good tippers and fun people are remembered). The 2nd year we stayed further away with 8 guys the manager sent us a limo to make sure we came up, free. Big Jets fan from LI..The original or the sports bar and grille?

Uconn men top by a longshot. Don’t care about pro sports anymore. They make too much money to care. Effort still matters at college level. Was diehard phillies fan growing up and massive giants football fan. Could care less about either. Rout for braves only because i own a minority interest. Follow and rout for nd because i hate sec football and live in GeorgiaUConn men is my #1. Not sure how to vote in the poll though because it's combined with the UConn women's team who I have never watched play.
I observed you at that Boneyard Club Box event. Your statement is true. You talked to no one. And that was a cupcake game.I don't really watch any sports other than UConn basketball.
Both still there - I'm in Ocean View. Love it down hereNice area thinking about DE coast for retirement myself. Is The Turtle still open and a big Terps spot?
Kirby’s also a favorite one year turned out to be the Kemba NC year saw the Cincy tourney game there.
Lombardi’s good food stop as well.
Wife #4?1. My kids
2. UConn basketball
3. My business
4. My wife
5. Health
6. UConn football
7. Friends
8. Extended Family
I'm deep into the discussion, but needed to chime in. I was browsing on my phone and didn't want to short change my response, but weirdly I was just thinking about these things the other day, with my baseball team heading into postseason and my football team gearing up for a huge year, following a chip in hoops.
I have definite favorite teams in most sports, but not really the NBA. Basketball, college specifically, is my favorite sport. So UConn, since 1994/5/6 range, has been my diehard follow every season and off-season. The only thing that can compete is my Buffalo Bills fandom. I'm way more a fan of college basketball, but I think my home town allegiance and attachment to the city gives the Bills 1A status. UConn is definitely 1B and the Braves are a clear cut 3rd, but still in my top tier.
After that, I have a second tier where I'm still pretty strongly attached, particularly when things get into important games, but not quite on the first tier level. That would be Buffalo Sabres hockey, Florida State football, and different teams in the NBA in different eras. That never lasts because it's usually tied to my favorite players, usually Huskies. So from 2007 - Kemba was traded, the Celtics were my NBA team mostly. 1990s I was all Hornets from Mourning until late 1990s. My NBA allegiances are more tied to UConn fandom than anything.
For his sake I hope she doesn’t read the Boneyard.Wife #4?
Told my ex wife the three greatest days of my life were the days my two children were born and March 29, 1999. She asked what about our wedding day? I had to be honest and told her sorry but not even close. Now, there are 4 additional days.
She never did understand.
I had my son-in-law with me, if I'm not mistaken. But I was shocked how little attention was being paid to the game. It's UConn basketball, dammit! Pay attention, people. There were moments of high drama, like when Brown (it was Brown, wasn't it?) went on a big run, scoring two consecutive baskets to get within 40.I observed you at that Boneyard Club Box event. Your statement is true. You talked to no one. And that was a cupcake game.
