Also at his work place they have a room that blocks all signals, so they can talk freely in there for about 30 minutes at a time. It appears to be a secure meeting, not all that unusual for an intelligence agency.

I binged this over the last month mostly because the kids wanted to watch it but my thought at the end was if El just took out Sarah Conner, wouldn’t they have been able to live happily ever after? Cut the head off, the body dies type of thing? I dunno, I zoned out of a few episodes so I probably missed some important stuff. Murray was a great character though.

Not to go all nerd but….

1) A five season build up to a battle with the Mind Flayer and they beat it in about four minutes.

2) Where were the demigorgons? When the military got attacked earlier they were ripping people limb from limb.

3) 011 was the one that fought every major foe and they let JOYCE be the one to give Vecna the final death shot?

I could go on.

Yeah agreed, especially with #2, the demigorgons kinda just disappeared for some reason which was a bit confusing. And Lucas giving one of them a front kick in the hospital elevator was absurd.

Reactions were mixed over the finale. I was okay with it but I also haven’t been as invested as the folks who’ve been watching it for 10 years but the Duffers seemed to be doing anything possible to make it two hours long. Some of it was just unnecessary and cringy.

Every now and then I poke around the menu on Tubi just to see what they have. Was happy to see all 3 season of Suburgatory are available. Love that show. Watched it bit by bit years ago, I think I'll watch it all together now. Just started with 2 episodes tonight but it's getting late.

Dad (Jeremy Sisto) and daughter (Jane Levy) move from NYC to the suburbs, where they are way out of their element. Much sarcasm and satire follows.

And Derrick winning a "tug of war" with Holly and pulling her away from a Demi was ridiculous too.

I've found that most series struggle wrapping things up perfectly. I think Breaking Bad is the status quo. Ted Lasso also did a great job. Game of Thrones was a disaster. I'm in your camp that it was fine. The long wait and the 450 million dollar cost for filming Season 5 gave me higher expectations for sure.

Death by Lightning is the best thing I've seen in a long time.

They absolutely nailed it and the acting was phenomenal. They managed to bring about every emotion and made things incredibly relatable for something that took place so long ago.
 
My wife and I just settled into the absurd world of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and I love every minute of it.

Tina Fey is the co-creator and executive producer while Ellie Kemper plays the lead, a NYC transplant who spent the previous 15 years in a doomsday cult bunker.

It's totally out there, but my type of comedy.

Yeah, that was a great show and concept. The writers took it about as far as it could go. Carol Kane was brilliant as the crazy landlord.
 
Season 2 ep 1 of The Pitt answers my question about how they would keep doing one day/season without the cast aging out if the series went more than a few years.

2:1 starts as the first day of year two.
 
Just started 11.22.63 on Netflix last night. James Franco plays a teacher who goes back in time to try and prevent the assassination of JFK. Based on a Stephen King book with Chris Cooper (who's great in everything) in a supporting role. So far, cool concept and got me thinking about the butterfly effect of that event never happening.
 
Stranger Things. Final season. It's fairly similar, follows the formula you know. I don't know who is responsible for MBB's wardrobe but ewww. I had low expectations and I think it has cleared that bar and is basically ok. Most of the kids are clearly too old, but not by so much it doesn't work. Natalia Dyer on the other hand, is 30 but almost looks older than Winona Ryder. She might want to eat a sandwich.

I've never been able to get into time travel shows or movies. I do remember liking the time traveler's wife. But I've been watching the series or at least trying. I haven't been able to get past the episode where his 16 year-old self is having sex with his 16-year-old self.
 
Anyone else watching Season 2 of Fallout? I think it's thru 4 eps now. Kinda slow moving. And lots of different fronts. Not nearly enough of Lucy and the Ghoul. I really don't care about what's happening back in the various vaults. There are a bunch of characters, but mostly they aren't compelling. The stuff with the Brotherhood is more interesting at least.

I haven't watched the mini series yet, but the book was fantastic. It's one that I often recommend to people thinking about dabbling in Fantasy, but don't know where to start.
 
Landman is embarrassingly sexist. Taylor Sheriden can not write female characters. It is too bad, because the plot around the oil industry is interesting, but the portrayals of all the female characters is 1970’s level misogyny.

Demi Moore must have gotten a say in her character’s dialogue and plot arc because it is much less offensive than the other female characters’.

This last episode was really misogynist. The main character's wife and daughter are openly bimbos and embrace that role. Ali Larter is funny, but her character is like a SNL caricature of a rich southern woman. The female lawyer is a shrew that suddenly becomes emotional and clingy just because she gets banged. The main character hires a stripper for his dad, who quickly becomes the hooker with a heart of gold trope. The son's girlfriend is involved in a very gratuitous SA that comes out of nowhere and whose only purpose is for the son to rescue her. Even Demi Moore's character is making one bad decision after another because she has no idea what she is doing. She looks lost every episode, and even when the character shows agency, it is the wrong decision.

It has reached a point that I won't watch it if my wife is nearby because I don't want her to know that I watch something so sexist.

Not just Texas, west Texas. Everyone is a caricature and is absurd in their own way. Nate is absurd as the lawyer. The hot shot young female lawyer...she doesn't exist in any reality. She'd be eaten alive. Tommy is absurd as well, oil men facing down cartels...nope. The least realistic thing is how ugly the son is, and that a gorgeous Mexican/American girl would have anything to do with him that wasn't based on money.

The show jumped the shark last season. It’s gotten even worse this season. Good thing is, with all the fast forwarding I do, an episode can be watched in about 20 minutes.
 
I started on Ponies (Peacock). It's a silly premise (two CIA agents stationed in Russia get killed, so their widowed spouses join the CIA because they've got nothing better to do). I'm 3 episodes in and it's a star vehicle for Haley Jo Richardson. Emilia Clarke is the other lead, but Haley Jo is the fun of the thing. Good supporting cast. I'll be interested to see if it holds together or just turns completely silly. Bonus: Great 70s soundtrack.

I knew this was upcoming, definitely want to watch, didn't realize it was out now. Haley Lu has been doing solid work for a while now. She should've already been a star, but I never understand how these things work on who becomes big and who doesn't.
 
Trailers for season 2 of Ted are up. It looks really good. I loved the first season. This is one of those premises that is so good it is literally impossible to screw it up.

There was supposed to be a third movie, which I was looking forward to, but I guess it isn't happening.
 
What's with Netflix taking so long between seasons of their shows? One Piece Season 2 is coming in March.

 
Agatha Christie's Seven Dials is a new mini series (3 episodes) on Netflix. Cruised through it. Fairly enjoyable. A few big names like Helena Bonham Carter and Martin Freeman.
