Not sure how this popped into my feed, but this is a 20 minute critique of Taylor Sheriden from an above average youtube movie critic that shreds Sheriden as a hack.

In Taylor’s world if you aren’t a billionaire or have a big inheritance then you get to live in the bunkhouse with Rip.

It’s amazing how good Sicario, Hell or High Water and Wind River are and how bad the TV shows are.

I've never seen his shows, they don't appeal to me but those movies are great. Hell or High Water was so damn good, I'm surprised so many people haven't seen it. So many people don't know Wind River either and that's also an excellent movie about a very real thing which happens on that reservation and other reservations.

If his shows suck he probably just figured out the formula which he knew would appeal to the brain-dead masses. Doesn't sound like there's any substance to the material but he can spin all sorts of other shows off of it.

Sicario is entertaining if you don't think too much about what is happening or how sexist the movie is. Hell or High Water is pretty good, although I am not sure I would like it as much if I watched it again.

"Running Point" Season 2 just dropped on Netflix. Watched a couple episodes. Breezy entertainment.

Sicario is entertaining if you don't think too much about what is happening or how sexist the movie is.

I didn't even know Sheridan was behind Sicario. Couple of thoughts in response... first, I wouldn't be at all shocked if that task force or whatever you call it was sexist as all get out IRL. Second, Blunt's character is probably the best-written female character in all of Sheridan's work that I'm aware of.
