I just had someone trying to basically run everyone else on the plane over because they didn’t have a bag in an overhead compartment.

That’s pretty hardo.

And frankly it would be ridiculously more efficient to let all those people off the plane first anyway. 20% of passengers deplane in like 30 seconds...impossible to beat efficiency level.

I don't know if it's hardo, other than just not convenient for me, but when the seat belt sign is turned off when the plane is finished taxiing, I do my best to not immediately stand up with 90% of the rest of the plane. This includes if I have an isle seat and the two people I might be blocking are already standing. There is no use in retrieving an overhead bag, until the passengers up front start deplaning. None.

I actually don't like that either. Had someone grab me by the arm once as I walked out doing the same as what you did. I think THAT is one of those things that is done because a few had to ruin it for everyone else, not that I am excusing it.

On a similar note, I hate to store my back pack with security just so I can enter a store. They usually place your bag in a locker or bin and give you a number. I have a bag because it has my jacket, umbrella, tablet, charger, sunscreen, etc. in their, plus I use it to store my groceries rather than use plastic bags (I have a huge LL Bean bag that has lasted for something like 23 years) so the biggest reason I am bringing it is to use less plastic.

I agree with self check out I don't like using machines to check my groceries and I also can't stand automated helpers when calling 800 numbers or otherwise. I just want to speak to a human!

A human that speaks correct, u derstandable English.

I'll never understand this. They all immediately stand up and stand hunched over for the next 10-15 minutes.

I'm only 6', but my back kills me sitting in most airplane seats and the more and sooner I can stand the better. Try to get up & stretch or walk at least once for any flight >2hrs. I choose sometimes standing on 30-45 minute train commutes.
Both getting on and off an airplane the passenger's job is to do so as quickly as possible out of respect for everyone's time. Help get bags or even make space for those around you if needed. And comes back to my hardo principle - have your bag & be ready to go when its your turn - my shoulder strapped bag is easier to get up&down from overhead, I'm immediately off - right behind whoever is in front of me, the girls with their bulky hard-shell bags sometimes get stuck wheeling those things down the aisle.

So, about that airplane at the gate and everyone standing or rushing the front.

I'm flying from West coast to East coast today. First flight California- Salt Lake City. E175. Relatively decent short hail commuter jet. I booked kinda last minute and wanted aisle seat. Row 16 out of a 20 row plane.

During boarding process there was a dude in a Mich St polo who didn't want to sit down. He was standing in the aisle drinking his Starbucks, checking his over head bag repeatedly amd, when passengers needed to get by, he'd tuck in to his seat. Repeat.

It was a 6am flight, we left early and arrived 20 min early at Salt Lake. It's a West coast hub for Delta so most passengers are connecting.

Had 5-6 passengers in the last two rows immediately get up and rush to the front. They got about halfway there before rest of aisle had already filled in. Seemed weird. No one should have been in that much of a rush.

I chose to sit in my seat until my row was deplaning.

I usually stand up right away for the same reason. Especially on a longer flight. I do not attempt to move forward unless I am connecting and have like 5 minutes to get to my gate. Sometimes the flight attendants announce those things and we should all help out and let those folks through when we can.

While standing, I also help those seated and retrieve their bags for them from overhead if they want. Especially people forward of me who have a bag behind them that I can reach.

Some Hardo thread this has turned out to be.

I sit while at the gate and stretch my legs cause everyone else is in the aisle. I smile at all the standees and they smile back. If they only knew I was laughing at them.

Fools rise while the wise sit. I don't need to help anyone get their stuff from the overhead compartments. Meanwhile the fools get my stuff.

Happy to do it for you if it means I can get out of that uncomfortable seat. I try to avoid being a Hardo really.

Had window seat in exit row for final leg of flights I opened shade for a few seconds to check out the ground scenery. Guy in middle seat immediately put his hand up to the side of his screen to block the sun from washing out his monitor.
So I decided to leave shade open rest of flight to make him keep his hand up.

I didn't. I'm thinking "Man, Fleudy's kind of a dick."
Quit following me to the urinal.

A neighbor was complaining of back pain. Believed it was due to one of his legs being a half inch shorter than the other. He said he was unable to find any half inch lifts which he felt would solve the problem.

I said: “Just buy a 1 1/2 inch and and 1 inch lift then. Problem solved.”

He said: “Just what I need, a wise guy!”

Without hesitation Mrs. fleud said: “You need a wise guy! Take him!”

Proud of his spouse fleudy is.

I hear you, but what are we . . . . . . 'words on a screen'?
As long as I know a name (or handle) and know we share a common interest, we're good. Until I change my mind.

Never wear a hat in a restaurant, I lose my mind when I see people do it. Glad I was able to find this thread.

Not even a fancy top hat with a monacle?

What kind of monster are you?
