Wasn’t that a great shot for Liz Kitley as well? Her pivot & fall-away shot is incredible- never seen anything like it. Seems unguardable

While watching the LSU-Kentucky game, the announcers said Clara grew like 10 inches her senior year which is why she is a good ball handler and has very good footwork. That to me, tells me she will continue to improve in the front court as she gains more experience with her height and the better agility she has vs other front court players. I had noticed her last year when composing the efficiency scores and have on my top 20 watch list for WBCA team awards. The truth is I have 200+ people I’m tracking but have flags next to my favorites and Clara is a definite favorite
And just like that 16-2 run by ucla to close half.UCLA has a bunch of weapons with that size and some 3point shooters
If they could be trusted to keep it clean, it would be awesome to hear them mic'd up and listen to their trash talk. Or maybe let them comment on the game similar to what ESPN has set up with Bird or Taurasi. The stories of how competitive they were as kids are hilarious. My goodness USC has struggled in the 2nd half. Painful to watch. Just one missed shot after another. UCLA has a lot of weapons they can throw at you.
I gotta say, Betts has good hands. They throw some passes at her that aren't really on the money, but she handles them no problem.
edit--80-46 final
Cool seeing Cheryl and Reggie Miller at the game. Reggie appeared to be having a better time than his sis.

I feel like she’s a carbon copy of Kitley. Both love the fadeaway step back and are generally quite good college players capable of dominating lower level competition. Similar height and mobility. Mixed results going up against better centers. Strack has more range on her shot which will suit her well for the pros but I’m not sure if she sticks in the W.I think Strack will become a better overall player than Liz Kitley, and might be right there already. Just won’t have the same accolades in a much more loaded conference.
Entire year? Or entire regular season?I was thinking Iowa State could go undefeated for the entire year since their schedule is so easy.
Regular season.Entire year? Or entire regular season?
We have very similar thoughts on the topic. I think it makes a great counter when nothing else is working but I would never make it the first move out of my bag and I feel like the Kentucky coaches teach it that way.I feel like she’s a carbon copy of Kitley. I don’t love the fadeaway jumper as a mainstay even if it’s pretty to watch. It’s a relatively low percentage shot and takes you out of any chance to grab an offensive rebound and it will rarely draw fouls.
The gap between the top four teams and the rest of the field is starting to look wider than I expected.I am not watching that Utah/TCU game. But I remember UConn playing Utah. Some team will be pretty lucky if they get TCU as the 2 seed in their region.
