Fire Elmo GIF

@TheFarmFan in honour of Stanford's win over UNC, my favourite GIF for chaos. 😉

If you told me Crooks would have 22 pts at the half and Baylor's Scott was riding the bench with zero points and 0-8 from the field I'd not have picked Baylor to be up by 2 at the half. Big scoring boost from Bear's Deng off the bench with 10 pts. Lot-o-turnovers by ISU.

Bad home loss for North Carolina; who I assume want to win the conference.

Good conference win for Creighton. They are missing a lot of players right now. And pretty much played without a point guard today.

Okay, can we just concede the NEC to Fairleigh Dickinson now and spare the pain of watching this conference for a couple more months? FDU destroyed St. Francis 73-28.

But hey, previously winless Mercyhurst took Le Moyne to the woodshed 89-72 and improved to 1-12.
Wait, why are YOU in the Northwest, watching a New England conference (my neck of the woods)? Heck, even I wouldn't stop my surfing to briefly pause at ANY NEC game.

.-.
What about UVa? All over Florida St. early, if it holds
Dang, I did it AGAIN. Game now in 2 OT.

I didn't even say anything, but Texas A&M decided not to play in the 4th quarter, only scored 1 point, and is now in OT w/ Georgia.

Games are 4 quarters long people, I thought we all knew that (a team I root for struggles w/ this concept w/ a number of 4th quarter meltdowns in recent years).

How does Arkansas have 11 wins? Getting pummeled by Alabama 60-34.

For some reason it wasn't clear in my head if Neighbors is still the coach or not. He isn't. Now Kelsi Musick (who?). Her tenure is not off to a good start.

Oooh, in the NOT battle for supremacy in Washington, Seattle U. (4-10 but only 2 D1 wins) is leading Washington St. (2-14) early. This would be a disastrous loss for the Cougs if they don't turn it around.

A&M was up 37-22 at the half. After scoring 1 point in Q4, they have managed 1 point thru 4 1/2 minutes of OT, trailing by 7. What the heck happened?

14-1 Mississippi St. is trailing Oklahoma 70-30 nearing the end of Q3. Maybe we should just do away w/ OOC? Not really, but the records some of these teams roll to is beyond meaningless.

edit--although MSU just beat Auburn by 22, who also cruised to double digit wins against a fairly weak OOC

Whew, UVa triumphs 91-87 in 2 OT, so their fans don't need to come after me.

A&M did not survive their late game swoon, Georgia runs their record to 15-1. Gauntlet of LSU, South Carolina and Ole Miss coming up, so look for the losses to start mounting.

.-.
Villanova @ Marquette is a big game in the Big East. Nova is 5-0, Marquette 3-2 but the Golden Eagles have been leading most of the way in this one. Not that there's any chance of anyone other than UConn winning the conference, but the Cats can't afford to lose to anyone other than UConn just to keep slim hopes alive.

And Nova is on a 10 game winning streak, which includes six road wins.

I'm just trying to offer blanket protection for everybody.

Whoa! Ole Miss was kinda hanging around against Texas, now they are making a big push in Q4.

.-.
Never mind about Iowa State going undefeated lol.

I really did look at their schedule yesterday. And I didn’t see a lot of opportunities for them to lose.

So Loree Payne and her squad rebound from the tough LMU loss to defeat Gonzaga. This will be the only regular season meeting between the two squads. For the second consecutive game the Broncos were destroyed on the boards. However they did get a clutch bored off a missed free throw with four seconds left. their touch returned from three land and they held on to win 77-73.

Going undefeated is really hard to do, which is why it happens so rarely. Predicting in early January that a team is gonna run the table is pretty silly. UConn could do it this year, everybody else is gonna stumble at some point.

Texas hangs on 67-64. There's definitely a loss (or a few) waiting for them somewhere during the SEC slate.

I also had no idea who she was prior to Arkansas but the cupboard was about as bare as it could possibly get for her to start with.

I kinda think it’s wild that Neighbors (who repeatedly said that his teams didn’t practice rebounding at all - in the SEC no less) finished with a career record over .600. Add that to the list of Kelsey Plum’s accolades.

It went under the radar here, but in the previous game Lisa Fortier of Gonzaga tied Kim Mulkey as the fastest to reach 300 wins (379 games). That surprised me quite a bit to hear. They've dominated the WCC, have been a solid and well respected program under her watch, but haven't made a big splash nationally.

The WCC appears to be wide open this year. 3 of the top 4 from last year look to be in the mix, but could be joined by Santa Clara and maybe some others.

Good win for Baylor. 17 combined for Littlepage-Buggs and Fontleroy is, in all seriousness, one of their better combo showings against ranked teams so far this year. L-B did have 20 boards though which is an excellent effort. I don’t think Baylor has ever really found consistency under Nicki Collen, but I don’t think she’s done a bad job following Mulkey, either.

Right place at the right time. His system fit his personnel well though. Also gotta give some credit to Chantel Osahor, Talia Walton and Jazmine Davis.

Oof, I thought DePaul might pick up a conference win today. Nope. Outscored 37-16 in the 2nd half by Providence and lost by 10.

Hmm...similar to when Neighbors left Washington. Although to be fair I think there were 4 players who had to retire medically, that was beyond anyone's control and was a major bummer.

I lost track of this with so many games going on. Marquette broke away in Q3, up 16 heading into the final frame. Was close at the half.
