Week 7 - Dec 16 to 22

Was it, though?

Texas forced Richmond into 24 turnovers. Tennessee forced them into 17.
Well Tennessee pur up 92 points. Texas had 65 points.

That's interesting, but you said "press". Did you mean to say "points"? Yes, so many points, so impressive.

Texas at least deserves credit for playing a true road game at a team better than, well, Memphis.

Well the press can also have different effects. Texas is a good team no doubt. It will be a interesting game when they play in SEC play.

Belmont with another close but no cigar -- 84-78 L to Kentucky. Bruins are 5-6! But the Ls are all to P4 teams.

Anyone else have Creighton taking out UCLA with a barrage of 3s?
It's nice to imagine this happening, but I'm not betting on it.

If you didnt bet the under on Stan/OhioSt, I'm sorry.

Buckeyes up 11-4 near the end of Q1.
I had nightmares of a 20-4 1Q, so I'm relatively pleased it's only 16-6. Expectations... The only thing this season I can control...

Iowa was up by 16 at the half against Northern Iowa, but UNI has come charging back in the second half. Nearly tied up w/ about 5 minutes left.

I thought Stanford almost never took transfers?

I'm just now learning they got Stevenson (Big Ten FOY per media) and Heal (all-WCC at Santa Clara) from the portal.

Was a great game to watch. I love wcbb. Maya McDermott was really incredible. Like what in the Dyaisha Faire was I watching. I don't get how these players aren't pros, just so much talent. Imagine if her and Lucy were playing together as Hawkeyes for their final year. Anyways another 5th year player I'm happy to see play for another year but I won't get into all of that. The game was kind of on par for both teams. Iowa has been good, but not great. As you mentioned had a big lead, but showed some of their weaknesses and let Northern Iowa back into it. Even Lucy, she has been very good all season but not great, including in this game. Conversely, Northern Iowa has been in a ton of these games but lost at the end.

There are certain players, I wonder how anyone ever leaves them open to take a 3. If Taylor McCabe takes a shot, it's going to be behind the arc. That's a given. 166 out of 179 career FGA are 3's. Even more dramatic 74 of her 77 made FGs are from deep. She hits them at .446. It boggles my mind that every opponent doesn't just sell out stopping her from taking a 3 when she's in the game. She's not gonna drive to the hoop and score on you. How are teams scouting her?

Anyway she was 5-8 from deep tonight.

, but lost in the first round to Wright State. They were only a 10 seed in 2022 and went to the WNIT in 2023. Arkansas under Neighbors has hit 20 wins only 3 teams in Neighbor's tenure.
Ah..... the basketball powerhouse that the Grand Canyon Antelopes beat Wednesday 82-69.

First transfers since 2004. So yes, until they broke college sports, we didn't.
