Week 5 preview (Dec. 6-12)

smh Kentucky... gonna be a long time before I rank them again
I know. I moved them up on my last ballot...down they will go again on the next one.

There aren't enough slots. GaTech will need to move back in...Depaul is worthy of a mention...Notre Dame deserves a slot and...dare I say it...(holding my nose) North Carolina getting consideration, too.

I had Tech at #24... I had ND and that other school ranked as well

Arizona pretty unimpressive in a 59-47 win over North Dakota St.

Some call it parity, I see a lack of good teams. I'm really unimpressed halfway watching Michigan against Wisconsin.

DePaul continues its domination over the fried chicken of Lexington. (Beat them last year as well.)

I'm just looking at the box score: Was Dre'una Edwards injured? Not seeing her name. That would've been a huge loss for Kentucky.

But wow, what a quiet stat line from Howard: 12 points, 3-9 FG.

Great win for the Blue Demons. Put all 5 starters in double figures. Freshman Aneesah Morrow with another monster game: 18 points and 17 rebounds. DePaul will for sure be getting votes now.

She was suspended for academic reasons. That said Kentucky just continues to find ways for me not to trust them despite some of the talent they have. I was highly skeptical of them coming into this season and they are confirming my suspicions

Congrats to DePaul on a nice win though

Side note, Jackson St played a hard fought battle with Arkansas

Was tied with a minute left before Arkansas scored 4 unanswered points to win 66-62

Yeah at this point let’s just leave KY out the poll. Everytime they move up, they simply blow it. They’re looking like a 8/9 Tourney seed to me.

After laying 108 points on Grand Canyon, the Lady Jacks seem ready for the upcoming
Saturday afternoon match up with Cal Baptist at 2pm MST at the Rolle Activity Center.

If NAU is on their game this should be a real fun contest. Two outstanding point guards as well as some very accomplished three point shooters.

Last night Regan Schenck dished out 14 assists and was perfect from three land.

In fact the Jacks were amazing from three land Nina Radford was in a zone and as well as Lauren Orndoff scoring 22 and 25 points respectively in under 27 minutes of play.

As a team the Jacks hit 12 of 22 3-pointers and had an eye popping 31 assists.

NC State cruised past Pitt 89-54. Looks like they got a ton of bench scoring, starters must not have played a whole lot.

Oregon State getting outplayed by Monmouth. Very unimpressive performance by the Beavers thus far. Won't win many PAC-12 games if they continue on this trend.

OSU wins 72-58. A team they should've buried by around 40. Really, really, really unimpressed.

Marathon game, Denver goes 4 OT to beat Butler, Bulldogs were seeking their first win of the season.

Missouri St. all over Missouri 79-51. Didn't Mizzou just almost beat Baylor?

They needed 4OT to score 100 points. I’m not sure what’s going on with the Pios this year, but they just haven’t made strides from last year IMO as they really should be competitive with teams like Wyoming, Air Force, Colorado State etc.

Utah put up 100 for the third time, they're fun to watch. Missing 2 starters and a rotation player off the bench, didn't seem to matter at all. Another big game for Fr. Jenna Johnson.

NC State's Elissa Cunane made her 429th FT against Pitt and now holds the school record for most made FT in a career. The old record was 428 by Miah Spencer.

Nicholls will try once again to win its first game of the season, hosting 1-5 South Alabama.

Your blowout of Pitt is impressive. No, Pitt is not a very good team, but they aren’t garbage either. Any 35 pt blowout of a P-5 conference foe has to make others turn their heads.

I was surprised by the margin of victory, as Pitt seemed much improved from previous season. NC State came out with guns blazing. Ball movement was crisp...the ladies were definitely intent on 1) finding the best available shot and 2) assuring they dominated the boards. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of that win Friday night was that the starters sat on the bench for most of the second half. The bench players all contributed, and the lead actually expanded...getting as large as 42 points at one time.

Perhaps, NC State's best performance of the season. It really was a thing of beauty to watch -- as long as you weren't a Pitt fan.
