Week 5 preview (Dec. 6-12)

I know it’s not your favorite school but in the neighborhood that you have WSU and Gonzaga tonight. I have my money on the Zags-who you got?

And BTW, Taylor has 16.3 point per game 15 assists and 15 turnovers in 8 games against an unbelievably soft schedule this far so yeah maybe she found her niche playing cupcakes…but being efficient as a facilitator…not so much.
I'm going w/ the Zags. Might be close. GU seems to be scoffing at the notion of rebuilding this year, after losing possibly their top 3 players from last season.

I'm assuming you're referring to Mikesell. Chavez also has a paltry 1:1 ATO, but she hasn't been finding the net. Averaging 2.7 ppg while shooting 30% from the floor. I don't care how soft the schedule has been, I'd take Mikesell 1000 times out of 1000 over Chavez at this point in the season.

You can hardly call Iowa St. at home in a rivalry game an upset. I think it would be surprising if Iowa wins.

Iowa St. wins 77-70 in kind of a wild game. Both teams were chucking 3's w/ reckless abandon.

.-.
Tough home loss by Cal Baptist to San Diego State, 78-77. First home loss in nearly 3 years
Olaeta had 18 points and 11 assists but Lancers fell short.

On to NAU on Saturday.

It was a wild game. Both teams went on runs...but little Mo ended up on the side of the Cyclones ultimately.

Well @DefenseBB what do I know? Cougs take down Zags.
The halftime score looked like a quarter score. Hey nwhoopfan, an OT. I watch California high school football and a fellow named JJ, I believe his last name was Johnson or Jefferson, was a color man on the broadcast and Rashaun Holloway was the sideline reporter. Now Rashaun is the announcer and there is no JJ. The last time I saw JJ on a game he did not look well. Do you know what happened to JJ?

I didn't get to see the game but the score indicates to me that both teams have some offensive issues as neither the Cougs nor the Zags are known for Arizona or Texas type defense...High scorer was Charlisse Leger-Walker with 14 points on 5-17 shooting  and Kaylynne Truong with 13 points on 5-13 shooting...SMH

Sorry, not familiar with him so can't give you any kind of update on him.

That Iowa State crowd last night ‍:D. Pam Ward made a good point about how Iowa doesn’t have any professional teams, so the fans show out for their collegiate teams.

I think the WNBA should consider expanding to Iowa.

Come 2024 their starting five could be...

Caitlin Clark
Bridget Carleton
Ashley Joens
Megan Gustafson
Cedar Rapids native Kiah Stokes

This lineup just might beat the Fever, once. :D So we'll call them the Des Moines Dungeon Dwellers!

I was about to joke imagine Kiah shooting 3’s then I remember she swished a few in NY

Lopes made it up the 17 got off the bus shooting and stealing.

Edit - teams combine for 93 points in the first half, home team with more points than the Huskies have managed in 39 minutes.

Lauren Ware injured almost immediately to start Arizona's game. Not good.

Tech surprised me tonight... nice win for the ACC

DePaul knocks off Kentucky. Not a good night for ranked vs. unranked teams so far.

smh Kentucky... gonna be a long time before I rank them again
I know. I moved them up on my last ballot...down they will go again on the next one.

There aren't enough slots. GaTech will need to move back in...Depaul is worthy of a mention...Notre Dame deserves a slot and...dare I say it...(holding my nose) North Carolina getting consideration, too.

I had Tech at #24... I had ND and that other school ranked as well

Arizona pretty unimpressive in a 59-47 win over North Dakota St.

Some call it parity, I see a lack of good teams. I'm really unimpressed halfway watching Michigan against Wisconsin.

DePaul continues its domination over the fried chicken of Lexington. (Beat them last year as well.)

I'm just looking at the box score: Was Dre'una Edwards injured? Not seeing her name. That would've been a huge loss for Kentucky.

But wow, what a quiet stat line from Howard: 12 points, 3-9 FG.

Great win for the Blue Demons. Put all 5 starters in double figures. Freshman Aneesah Morrow with another monster game: 18 points and 17 rebounds. DePaul will for sure be getting votes now.

She was suspended for academic reasons. That said Kentucky just continues to find ways for me not to trust them despite some of the talent they have. I was highly skeptical of them coming into this season and they are confirming my suspicions

Congrats to DePaul on a nice win though

Side note, Jackson St played a hard fought battle with Arkansas

Was tied with a minute left before Arkansas scored 4 unanswered points to win 66-62

Yeah at this point let’s just leave KY out the poll. Everytime they move up, they simply blow it. They’re looking like a 8/9 Tourney seed to me.

After laying 108 points on Grand Canyon, the Lady Jacks seem ready for the upcoming
Saturday afternoon match up with Cal Baptist at 2pm MST at the Rolle Activity Center.

If NAU is on their game this should be a real fun contest. Two outstanding point guards as well as some very accomplished three point shooters.

Last night Regan Schenck dished out 14 assists and was perfect from three land.

In fact the Jacks were amazing from three land Nina Radford was in a zone and as well as Lauren Orndoff scoring 22 and 25 points respectively in under 27 minutes of play.

As a team the Jacks hit 12 of 22 3-pointers and had an eye popping 31 assists.
