OT-What happened to DeBerry at Maryland? Her name has not been in the box scores.
She was in the St Francis blowout 107-35 but wasn’t deemed good enough to earn playing time in a close game against George Mason 66-56. Maryland has better options than Amari.

Not sure how mentioning two of lower half teams (predicted 10th and 11th) in this conference correlates into who may win this conference.
K State, ISU, Baylor, TCU, WVU and Utah are the top 6. The 10-16th teams in this conference are truly awful, with Tech, Cin and Houston expected to move on from their coaches in April. After the 2025-26 season, I would expect ASU and UCF to do the same.

Both teams are rated above by almost double of the teams they played with OSU rated #27 by Massey and TT is rated #49. While Richmond is rated #54 and Missouri St is #85. OSU is only rated behind West Virginia #14, Kansas St #19, TCU #20 and Baylor #22. While TT is rated behind the teams listed above including OSU and ISU #41, Kansas #42, Utah #43 and Colorado #44. They are ahead of 5 teams which are #58 Arizona, #76 BYU, #93 UCF, #101 Cincy and #103 AZ St.

Man, I would've pegged you as the last person to complain about me raining bad juju down on the Domers. But fine: ain't no way the Huskies are losing to those unlucky Irish!
Let's not get it twisted! I'm grateful and indebted to you. It's about time someone used their jinxing powers for a noble purpose. Now if the Huskies can't ride your newfound jinxing powers to a win in the frozen tundra of northern Indiana, they'll have no one but themselves to blame :)

I mean this without any intent to be harsh, but is DeBerry one of the biggest disappointments of recent top HS recruits? She was a top 5 recruit when she signed with UConn and she has not cracked a regular rotation in four seasons of college ball. At 6'6", you'd think her physical gifts alone would warrant court time. Does anyone understand what happened there?
Honestly she just appears to have limited interest in basketball. Seems like a sweet kid who is just tall.

Amari has a lot of basketball talent, but she is three things-

1. Painfully slow
2. Appears to lack any fire or passion for the game.
3. Not a "thinker" of the game. She makes really bone head plays.

If she had even a small fraction of passion for the game, she could be really good. She is a great passer from the high post and has good, solid fundamentals all over the court. She never should've left to UCONN and gone to a P5 school. She should've gone and played at Buffalo

Yes, but they've been forged by the fires of the Pac 12 for years.
Would the same be said of Arizona State and Washington State?

Honestly, I think one of the reasons the coach left to the wnba is because the cupboard is bare.

Utah lost to northwestern. A team in the running for last in the big 10 imo.
And I don’t expect them to make the ncaa tournament this year. (This win certainly helps their candidacy though.)

Disagree. Pili was a big loss but the cupboard is not bare. The Northwestern loss was very surprising to me, but didn't Utah just beat Notre Dame today?

Wow did Gonzaga get beat down by Florida St. today. This is 4 losses by at least 18 points in 9 games.

I just remember that game in Arizona where McKenna woliczko dominated her. McKenna was a 10th grader btw.
That could not be. Woliczko is still in high school and no way they could have played against each other. Maybe you can explain it to me.

GM WBB fans! Today's grid update. Somehow, the ESPN site didn't trickle down the rankings to the schedule pages, so there were a few errors from the original post on Monday. Sigh.

Actually for years ASU was forged by the pac-12 and a significant player in women's basketball.

I can remember significant and thrilling games at the then Wells Fargo arena during the CTT era including an amazing victory over Utah on my birthday in 2017. A regional game against Tennessee well the list goes on and on. So ASU does have a storied history under Charli Turner Thorne.

This is a tribute to coach CTT as the ASU administration and athletic department during the last 3rd of her career was in complete disarray and set a standard of incompetence and malignant neglect.

The last two years in the pac-12 under the leadership of the well-meaning but deeply over matched former Delaware coach Natasha Adair reflects that pathetic, disheartening, heartbreaking, deterioration of a once proud program.

ASU is a compelling case study of the importance of a proactive and supportive administration and athletic department for women's athletics. Once an institution of higher learning makes a decision to be unsupportive and neglectful the result is predictable. Adair is well on her way to a third consecutive 20 loss season. I'm wondering what the over-under is that she'll be at the helm again next year. If she returns it speaks volumes about what the ASU administration thinks about women's basketball.

ASU, it's women's athletes and it's fans deserve more.

Mmm, I think they're talking about the Lutheran High vs Archbishop Mitty at a TOC game last year

Yesterday was a wonderful day for the NAU Lumberjacks and Grand Canyon Antelopes as both dominated.

NAU was in control of their game against Tulane in the St Pete showcase played on an 84 ft court. In the final the Jacks shot over 50% and in spite of a very short six woman rotation appeared much fresher then their opponents. While I remain concerned about this very short rotation the three 5th year seniors and three juniors who lead the team clearly provide a depth of experience and confidence justifying the preseason consensus of The lumberjacks winning the Big Sky.

Grand Canyon came close to setting their School record for in-game shooting percentage as they absolutely destroyed the overmatched east Texas team. Coach Molly Miller emptied the bench by the beginning of the fourth quarter and while it's hard to really appreciate the skill of the team given the quality of the opponent Trinity San Antonio really showed out.

I'm super excited for this week after watching the Jacks play Thursday against Oral Roberts I'm going to drive down to the dirty t and see how Miller's squad fares at McHale.

There's a wide gap in athleticism between Grand Canyon and the kitties but the game yesterday gave me some hope for yet another upset and perhaps the Lopes can join the Jacks and upset of Barnes' kitties. Wondering about Cunningham as she certainly would be able to dominate Lara Ekstup in the paint.

Gonzaga never recovered from the hot shooting of Florida State in the 1st quarter. I think FSU shot 64% in the first and they were up 16-20 points. Gonzaga just never recovered. I believe Gonzaga got to within 10-12 points in the 2nd half but that was it.

Yes. Woliczko. Two years younger and shorter dominated Koval in that game.

Disagree. Pili was a big loss but the cupboard is not bare. The Northwestern loss was very surprising to me, but didn't Utah just beat Notre Dame today?
Yes. And I bet the coach that left was surprised when she saw the score.

I think that loss was more about a tired Notre dame and their lack of depth than it was about Utah. Sometimes you are in the right place at the right time.

30-8 in the fourth quarter. I guess the FSU coach wasn't in the mood to be merciful.

DeBerry was at UConn last season. They did not play a high school team.

Currently watching a rock fight between Syracuse and Yale.

Through 1Q the score is 9-10 with Yale winning. Syracuse had only 3pts until the last minute-ish of the quarter.

This is reminding me of a lot of non-conf games Syracuse played last season. Ice cold first quarters. The Orange have missed about 10 uncontested layups. Yale is out muscling them to about every loose ball and rebound.

So much hero ball from Syracuse. No flow to their offense, just standing around. Fans got a little invigorated after they finally picked up 6 more points but it was like a tomb in here.

Edit: players woke up in 2Q. At the half it’s 33-20, Syracuse.

That may be. However I'm certain Kneepkens, Johnson and McQueen were all significant players, and I believe they were all starters, on a team that made the Tourney the year before Pili arrived. So again, cupboard is definitely not bare. Viera, Toure, Ross and Wilke are all decent players as well.

Okay, I looked it up and I was correct. That trio I mentioned were 3 of the top 4 scorers for that team in 21-22 that won a 1st Round Tourney game.
