I thought van lith would really struggle against the notre dame guards. But it didn’t happen. And instead she took the game over.
She didn't face Hidalgo, but played against Notre Dame for 3 years when she was at Louisville. Certainly faced Miles before. And it's not like there were no good guards she went up against in the SEC last year.

I don't understand some of the narrative I see with her. Last year definitely didn't work out great, but did people forget she was a key contributor on Louisville teams that went Elite 8 twice and Final 4 once while she was there?

Citron not being able to guard her better is a bit of a surprise though, don't you think? Citron handled Paige well last season. She handled Juju pretty well. And Van Lith was just beating her off the dribble and getting anything she wanted.

I'm pretty sure someone noted this a week or so ago. What's been really surprising to me about Prince is what a force she's been on the glass and shot blocking this year. She had very little interest in either of those things while she was at Oregon.

There’s still a lot of season to go but Prince has to be on the shortlist for all American at this point? 31 points and 16 rebounds against NC State and 20 points 20 rebounds, 8 blocks against Notre Dame. Both wins.

And TCU seems to have the strength of schedule for her to be in additional big time matchups. Wouldn’t have guessed this preseason.

Prince 9 of 17 for 20 points. (20 reb)

Koval + King 2 of 18 for 8 points.

Prince dominated in post against the two newbies.

Van Lith and Conner held their own against ND guards.

ND has more help coming in the post, and the two Ks will improve over the ACC season.

A real statement game for TCU. Prince a national level factor, Hailey Van Lith found her lost mojo.

@Plebe, I believe you have a GIF for this moment

These holiday tournaments are an opportunity to catch the better team relaxing a bit.

And, if she is so inclined, Prince could come back again next season for a 7th year in college as a result of 2 redshirt injury years plus a Covid year.

I must say, I saw much of this game and I'm mildly shocked (is that an oxymoron?) at how this game went. Notre Dame burst out to a double digit lead and I was certain it was blowout city. Van Lith couldn't do anything right and had to sit with foul trouble.

Up 11 at the start of 4Q, the Domers completely collapsed and Hidalgo almost disappeared down the stretch. I know this site isn't exactly a hotbed of Van Lith fans, but she came to life and looked BY FAR like the best player on the court in 4Q.

I kinda wanted Notre Dame to stay undefeated until we play them, but oh well, the angels are all rejoicing tonight so I might as well also.

I have no idea of her intentions, but I would think she should strike while the iron is hot. She's finally grown into the player some thought she could be...a long time ago. She'll be 25 slightly after the season ends, so if she delayed another year she'd be 26 by the time she hit the W.

Yes, that would be the likely scenario, unless TCU or some other program finds a bushel full of NIL money to throw at her.

Refusing to pay for Blo Sports, I couldn't watch the game, but Citron may match up better against taller guards - JuJu is 6'2" and Paige is 6'0", it's just deceptive because both are so athletic off the dribble. Hailey Van Lith is 5'7" and pocket change and I suspect she may just be a little mighty mouse-y for a tall guard like Citron to keep up with for 40 minutes.

Which is a weird matchup for Niele to make considering she has Hannah. She did this last season too when she put Citron on Amoore.
