Week 2 games (Nov. 30 – Dec. 6)

Who is Belmont Abbey and why are they giving UNC-Greensboro the game of their lives? @triaddukefan

You mean the Powerful Crusaders? Small catholic school located here in NC. They are in Division II.

Its gonna be a long season on 1400 Spring Garden Street :(:(:(

Ugly game but glad to see UCF come out with the win. Not sure beating either Virginia or LSU gives much of an indication on whether they are any good unfortunately.

LSU is now 0-3
I saw the Ole Miss game last night and they were ok with all those transfers. I wonder how bad Auburn will be given all their defections from a bad team last year. So yeah, you may be right that LSU may be the bottom of the barrel. When is Nikki’s contract up?

Did anyone watch the ASU and USC game? I wonder how watched looked.
I just turned on the UCLA vs. Az game

Expires on June of 2022. They keep extending her due to "recruiting reasons' then don't want to fire her because of the buyout. Its beyond asinine. Just cut your losses and move on, its 10 years with nothing to show for with a bad product.

Stanford playing Washington on Sunday and Wazzu on Tuesday, both in Vegas. That’s a great setup for them.

UW was in Vegas for a tournament last weekend. Other than a brief stop in Berkeley, they've spent almost their whole season there so far.

Rumors of ASU's demise may have been exaggerated. Not exactly a tough schedule, but they are 4-0 now. Some had USC pegged as a team to watch out for.

USC was playing without star Pili tonight, and she hasn’t played a game this year.
I’m more surprised tonight by Washington’s big lead over Cal.

I saw a lot of it. Not sure exactly what you’re asking. In any case, pretty evenly matched teams. Neither looked anything close to elite - quite a step down from Arizona and UCLA (both teams had that “intramural” look, sprinkled with a few “less well conditioned” players like you don’t see on elite teams). ASU looked better in the first half, but then resorted to unexplainable unmakable drives into traffic and other creative ways to take bad shots, combined with long stretches of no offensive rebounding, to let USC back in it.

This is pathetic, Nikki should be fired immediately. No reason she should be collecting a paycheck at this point

I hear there is a decent coach just down the road at Nichols!

yeah, mistyped. I was curious how each looked. I am piqued by ASU as I did not think they would be better than USC given what ASU lost and what USC had returning.

I watched most of the game, and it was apparent that USC was missing Pili, who led them last year. They haven’t figured out their identity this year without her.
I thought ASU had some good moments and I think that Charli Turner Thorne absolutely outcoached Trakh tonight. I was disappointed in how....disorganized USC seemed at times but that was in some part due to the ASU defense.

Arizona has turned it around in the 3rd quarter as it was looking ugly for awhile in the 2nd like it would be a blowout. Now 43-39. Reese still struggling but McDonald looking much better. UCLA does have depth.

Thanks for pointing this out; it was an egregious omission from my list. (I'll use the excuse that all those 2pm games wore me out.)

This will be a highly significant game for both teams and should be very entertaining to watch (IMO one of the 3 most appealing matchups of a chock-full slate of Sunday games). But unfortunately it appears that the stream requires a subscription ($11 per month) or a one-day pass ($7): https://gojacks.com/watch/purchase.aspx#register

This will be Gonzaga's last game of any significance out of conference. The Jackrabbits, by contrast, have the following schedule after this game: at Kansas State, at Northern Iowa, vs. Drake, at Missouri State. Then after a sojourn to Montana State, they'll play Northern Iowa a second time just before Christmas. Quite the decent little schedule that Aaron Johnston has put together.
I just saw this game listed on the ESPN app. Woohoo!

Sunday of course will be an entirely different story, but UW has 2 straight blowout wins. I don't think they've beaten anybody in conference by a margin like that since Plum was wearing purple and gold.

Onyenwere grabbed 16 rebounds for UCLA, but she was only 5-16 shooting. Osborne was only 6-21. Gonna be hard for them to win games w/ their Big 2 shooting like that. Surprising it was this close.

I think Baptiste is gonna be a difference maker for Arizona. I didn't get to watch, but she had 18 pts/11 reb. She looked good in their previous game.

Sloppy play for Duke in the first quarter.... gotta clean that up. 24-4 Duke leads after 1 quarter over the powerful Pirates of East Carolina outta the mighty AAC.

Good news for Duke.... after sitting out the first two games.... Mikalya Boykin makes her season debut.

Still a bit sloppy... with 4 more turnovers in the quarter... (11 for the half) ... Duke leads 43-17 at the half

What's the deal, UConn leaves the AAC and now multiple teams look better (at least results):confused:

Cinn also leading FL 25-21 midway through 2Q??

and BE not holding up so well?

.-.
Took care of Western Carolina... took care of East Carolina... South Coastal Carolina.... you want some next?? :mad:

FInal from Durham 72-47.

Florida now leading 32-26
this game should be solid

LSU vs Auburn will be battle for worst in the sec this year. First to 30 points wins
LSU, Auburn, and Virginia will be 3 of the teams I bring up whenever anyone tries to claim ACC and SEC are the best conferences

Nice to see Duke playing such a challenging early schedule  . I believe East Carolina over time has been the lowest-performing team in the AAC. I also see that Duke learned the lesson from last year: Don't play any mid-majors in their home gym:

I dont think anyone is claiming SEC as the best conference. Football sure, WBB no. SEC has some good teams but the back half of the conference is laughably bad.

It's been claimed on this board, in the very recent past in fact. Not everyone has as a good a grasp on reality as you do.

SEC has way too many mediocre/bad coaches that are hanging around that need to be replaced. Every conference has its share of teams that are strong but PAC 12 is the best to me overall.
