Ball St. had to go OT to beat Central Michigan, meanwhile 3rd place Toledo edged 2nd place Buffalo in the MAC. End result Ball St. 2 games up on those other 2, now tied for 2nd.

UNLV has officially clinched the Mountain West. 3 game lead w/ 2 games left. They finished 2nd in Coach La Rocque's first season there, her first season ever as a head coach. Since then they've won it 4 straight years.

The next big step for her is to win a Tourney game.

I'm headed to Vegas for MW, WCC and WAC tournaments. I expect the Rebs will square off against either the Rams or the Cowgirls for the right to dance. It won't hurt Lindy to be playing that final in front of a home crowd.

The best game will be Gonzaga and Portland and I expect Grand Canyon will streak through their tournament for their first dance.

The Lopes extend their Nation leading winning streak to 24 tonight in what should be a good road game at UT Arlington. Earlier this month UT gave the Lopes a game in Phoenix for three quarters before Molly Miller's crew blew them out in the 4th. Miller's crew has clenched the WAC regular season and I'm wondering if she's going to continue to extend the streak or perhaps reduce minutes for starters in anticipation of next week's tournament.

In any event the Lopes are the best team in Arizona and will be the only one dancing as NAU has faint prospects of beating Montana State in the tournament up in Boise. While there are some kitty fans with faint hopes the chances that the team from the dirty t will allow their fashionista coach to have stage for flamboyant dress are slim to none. Regardless of the first round the kitties will face Colorado in the second and should they slip by the Buffaloes they will find themselves over matched in the quarters and out of the dance and into the WNIT. What is intriguing will be the kitties chances of reaching 20 wins. This Saturday they pick up win 19 as they destroy the Sun Devils in Tempe. Kitty fans remember the challenge the kitties had in dispatching Natasha Adair's rebuilding team at McKale so it's my expectation that Barnes will dress up her team and challenge them to do what Colorado did to what passes for a wbb basketball team in Tempe. Natasha's rebuild has resulted in what can unanimously be labeled an awful team. With three consecutive 20 loss seasons and a team that is consistently outscored over the nice coach from Delaware's 3 year tenure in Tempe it's clear that not only is ASU the worst team in Arizona but......

So the kitties really hope to finish 9th in the Big 12 so they'll have an opportunity to go to KC and face Houston and get that coveted 20th victory. I think they're really locked into the nine spot given their loss to the Buffalo's earlier in the year. If by some miracle they finish 8th and get a bye it's likely that they'll be stuck at the 19 win level as I think Colorado particularly if they get Frida back is peaking while the kitties are so challenged offensively that their prospects are as dim as the rebuild in Tempe by the 2021 CAA coach of the year recipient.

Both Grand Canyon and NAU have exceeded the 20 win plateau so I'm certain that Barnes having lost to those two teams earlier in the year would love to slip in and get 20 as well. In fact she may have an outfit planned for that game.... Maybe the Mariachi one she wore in their last outing?

Apparently I should be watching Drake vs. Indiana St. It's 59-49...at the half! Dinnebier has 21 points and is on triple double watch.

Kentucky is crushing Tennessee. Vols will drop to 8-7 in conference and stay at #8 in the standings. Why do the polls/computer formulas/Tourney projections like them so much? At some point you are what your record says you are. Heard during the broadcast Creme just moved them up to a #3 seed. #8 in their conference, yet a 3 seed. The math isn't mathing as the kids say.

Strack just set a single season record for blocks at Kentucky w/ 67. She's dominating Tennessee w/ 23 pts/15 reb and a perfect 11-11 shooting.

edit--82-58 final, and that was even w/ some window dressing at the end from the Vols; margin was 30+ in Q4

Missouri Valley just got a lot more interesting. Murray St. just knocked off Missouri St. They along w/ Drake are now 1 game behind Missouri St. w/ 3 games left, title still up for grabs.

This Texas @ Miss St. game is getting spicy. Rori Harmon with a half court prayer shot to take the lead at the end of the 3rd.

Is this Vic Schaefer's first time back at Miss State since he left for the Texas job?

I am surprised by the Tennessee result. But one thing I will say about Tennessee… I think most of their good work this season has come at home.
0-6 against Texas, South Carolina, LSU, Oklahoma and Kentucky, plus they lost to Vandy. Decent wins against Alabama and Ole Miss, maybe Mississippi St. counts too. Still...I'm not impressed. They do have 5 wins against the dregs of the conference w/ 1 more coming against Georgia.

Well, Syracuse just beat Pitt, so they should still be able to make it into the ACC tourney. I believe tonight was a must win for both teams (according to the chatter of the fans around me). Syracuse should beat BC on Sunday but to be honest I don’t see them going far in the ACC tourney. But it would be nice to see them pull off an upset or two to make things interesting.

Le Moyne beat CCSU … CCSU is 4th in the NEC now and Le Moyne is 6th. I’m not sure if this conference has any eligibility cut offs for the bottom teams. FDU is way ahead of the pack and I expect them to win the NEC tourney but we will see.

Speaking of miles ahead in conference rankings, SDSU is beating up Denver right now, currently 37-12 in Q3. SDSU will win the regular season Summit title completely outright and should also win the autobid from the conference tourney, barring a massive upset.

Before today they lost all their games close to teams in the top 10. Wins over UConn, Bama, Miss.

I was expecting them to beat Ky, and finish 4th in the conf.

Bama finishes with LSU and Okla.
Miss finishes with SC and LSU.
If they lose both (believable) and Tenn beats Georgua (yes), Vols finish 6th.

Sure they can move up, but still way outside contention. It's really the Big 3 and then everybody else. I'm not sure if Oklahoma or Kentucky is #4. UK was reeling recently but sure did recover tonight.

Ah, looking at standings at best they would be tied w/ Bama and Ole Miss as far as record.

Uh oh Notre Dame, we have a bit of a problem. That #1 seed isn't quite a lock.
