Apparently I should be watching Drake vs. Indiana St. It's 59-49...at the half! Dinnebier has 21 points and is on triple double watch.

Kentucky is crushing Tennessee. Vols will drop to 8-7 in conference and stay at #8 in the standings. Why do the polls/computer formulas/Tourney projections like them so much? At some point you are what your record says you are. Heard during the broadcast Creme just moved them up to a #3 seed. #8 in their conference, yet a 3 seed. The math isn't mathing as the kids say.

Strack just set a single season record for blocks at Kentucky w/ 67. She's dominating Tennessee w/ 23 pts/15 reb and a perfect 11-11 shooting.

edit--82-58 final, and that was even w/ some window dressing at the end from the Vols; margin was 30+ in Q4

Too much value on UConn win tbh

I am surprised by the Tennessee result. But one thing I will say about Tennessee… I think most of their good work this season has come at home.

Missouri Valley just got a lot more interesting. Murray St. just knocked off Missouri St. They along w/ Drake are now 1 game behind Missouri St. w/ 3 games left, title still up for grabs.

Wow, what happened to the Vols? Huge loss for them.

This Texas @ Miss St. game is getting spicy. Rori Harmon with a half court prayer shot to take the lead at the end of the 3rd.

Is this Vic Schaefer's first time back at Miss State since he left for the Texas job?

0-6 against Texas, South Carolina, LSU, Oklahoma and Kentucky, plus they lost to Vandy. Decent wins against Alabama and Ole Miss, maybe Mississippi St. counts too. Still...I'm not impressed. They do have 5 wins against the dregs of the conference w/ 1 more coming against Georgia.

Well, Syracuse just beat Pitt, so they should still be able to make it into the ACC tourney. I believe tonight was a must win for both teams (according to the chatter of the fans around me). Syracuse should beat BC on Sunday but to be honest I don’t see them going far in the ACC tourney. But it would be nice to see them pull off an upset or two to make things interesting.

Le Moyne beat CCSU … CCSU is 4th in the NEC now and Le Moyne is 6th. I’m not sure if this conference has any eligibility cut offs for the bottom teams. FDU is way ahead of the pack and I expect them to win the NEC tourney but we will see.

Speaking of miles ahead in conference rankings, SDSU is beating up Denver right now, currently 37-12 in Q3. SDSU will win the regular season Summit title completely outright and should also win the autobid from the conference tourney, barring a massive upset.

Before today they lost all their games close to teams in the top 10. Wins over UConn, Bama, Miss.

I was expecting them to beat Ky, and finish 4th in the conf.

Bama finishes with LSU and Okla.
Miss finishes with SC and LSU.
If they lose both (believable) and Tenn beats Georgua (yes), Vols finish 6th.

Sure they can move up, but still way outside contention. It's really the Big 3 and then everybody else. I'm not sure if Oklahoma or Kentucky is #4. UK was reeling recently but sure did recover tonight.

Ah, looking at standings at best they would be tied w/ Bama and Ole Miss as far as record.

Down 2 starters, Montana St. struggled w/ lowly Portland St. for almost 3 quarters...then flipped a switch and blew them out by 30.

Man. Univ. of Portland is 27-3, but they are so sketchy. Come down to a last possession against so many bad teams in the WCC. I think they just set a school record for wins, but I don't think they are nearly as good as they were a few years ago when they had Alex Fowler and some others.

Bama takes down LSU in OT. Strange year. Lots of talent, but seems like there is no clear cut best team. Take the top 5 or 6 or 7 or whatever and throw them in a blender. March and the Tourney should be very interesting.

How do you evaluate Georgia Tech? They have several good wins, not sure if they've played themselves out of the Tourney...but the last decent team they beat was Nebraska back in late December. Oof. 2 months of beating cream puffs and losing to anyone with a pulse.

Yikes. Oregon St. blew a 17 point half time lead and lost by 3 on the road to St. Mary's. Tough year for the Beavs. Could still finish 4th in the WCC, but as bad as that league is that doesn't mean anything.

You called it, but teams 65 to 75 so bad this year that GTech, Vanderbilt, Iowa St etc all pretty safe, even with conf tourney stumbles...still safer to find a win or too.

If LSU loses this game against Alabama. I can't wait for Coach Mulkey's postgame press conference. That is going to be worth staying up to watch.
Alabama was tough. Both teams actually played well, both shooting about 50%. LSU made their famous 4th qtr surge getting to OT, but Alabama matched them shot for shot in OT.

Difference was a missed free throw in OT and an off game for F Johnson, who also had some foul trouble.

Still good win for bama!

I definitely agree with the commentary that Alabama should be a top 16 team over the likes of Tennessee and Oklahoma in the SEC. After Tennessee's blowout loss, I think their only path back is by beating South Carolina or Texas in the SEC tournament, or by winning it.
