If LSU loses this game against Alabama. I can't wait for Coach Mulkey's postgame press conference. That is going to be worth staying up to watch. Let me get ready.

Down 2 starters, Montana St. struggled w/ lowly Portland St. for almost 3 quarters...then flipped a switch and blew them out by 30.

Man. Univ. of Portland is 27-3, but they are so sketchy. Come down to a last possession against so many bad teams in the WCC. I think they just set a school record for wins, but I don't think they are nearly as good as they were a few years ago when they had Alex Fowler and some others.

Bama takes down LSU in OT. Strange year. Lots of talent, but seems like there is no clear cut best team. Take the top 5 or 6 or 7 or whatever and throw them in a blender. March and the Tourney should be very interesting.

How do you evaluate Georgia Tech? They have several good wins, not sure if they've played themselves out of the Tourney...but the last decent team they beat was Nebraska back in late December. Oof. 2 months of beating cream puffs and losing to anyone with a pulse.

Yikes. Oregon St. blew a 17 point half time lead and lost by 3 on the road to St. Mary's. Tough year for the Beavs. Could still finish 4th in the WCC, but as bad as that league is that doesn't mean anything.

You called it, but teams 65 to 75 so bad this year that GTech, Vanderbilt, Iowa St etc all pretty safe, even with conf tourney stumbles...still safer to find a win or too.

Alabama was tough. Both teams actually played well, both shooting about 50%. LSU made their famous 4th qtr surge getting to OT, but Alabama matched them shot for shot in OT.

Difference was a missed free throw in OT and an off game for F Johnson, who also had some foul trouble.

Still good win for bama!

I definitely agree with the commentary that Alabama should be a top 16 team over the likes of Tennessee and Oklahoma in the SEC. After Tennessee's blowout loss, I think their only path back is by beating South Carolina or Texas in the SEC tournament, or by winning it.

Well well well. I did not stay up last night for some of the later games, so a few surprises this am. FSU beating ND was not surprising and seeing HH pull a major hissie fit was a bit, disappointing? Refs not reviewing the Miles' across the head foul was the other. Will Bama over LSU affect the latter's #2 seed placement? Texas' somewhat uninspiring 4 pt win over Mississippi State (19-106-9SEC)? Kentucky's huge win over Tenn is huge. NCAA reveal happened before all these games, and I'm sure Charlie will have an update later this morning.

Poor Charlie

During the SEC Network wrap-up show last night, Steffi Sorenson received a text from Charlie Creme saying he had moved South Carolina back to a one seed.

First, here is a look at the Big Ten,Big 12, and SEC, which both have games on Saturday and Sunday. I've included the games that may have an impact on the conference tourney seeding and byes. I've shaded teams by the following groupings - impact to top seed, top four group, second three/four group, next tier.

When UConn lost two games in a row in February of 2023, stopping another streak that might never be challenged, I felt that with NIL and the transfer portal that no consistently top teams would lose two games in a row. So what happens, the Golden Domers are on a two game losing streak right now.

It's called parity in the NCAA. We've been seeing upsets like this in the top 25 all season. UConn had 3 game losing streak against top 25 teams, until they beat South Carolina recently. Who would have thought that was possible until it happened?

I’m currently watching ODU (17-13) go to the wire against GA Southern (13-17). I always pay more attention to midmajors and lesser conferences around March. Feels like every game is magnified and is that much more competitive. These are teams playing for nothing but pride.

It was a great game. Alabama played well.

GA Southern pulls it out.

Now you could switch over to James Madison's final hurdle trying to finish off an undefeated in conference schedule.

I posted in the wrong thread last night...and I wasn't even drinking.

Columbia won easily. 2 games left, they are 11-1 in the Ivy. Coming up in a little bit 9-2 Harvard vs. 9-2 Princeton in pretty much an elimination game.

Okay, we've got this little showdown w/ USC @ UCLA on Saturday w/ the Big 10 title on the line, plus #1 seed implications.

Low key the other best game of the day is 18-1 Purdue Ft. Wayne @ 18-1 Green Bay w/ the winner claiming the Horizon.

Despite last night's poor performance, Tennessee will still host a sub-regional, IMO. Other teams they are jockeying position with as a 3 or 4 seed will also lose over the next 10 days or so.

What's been keeping Tennessee in the top 16 is their margin of loss. I assume they'll beat Georgia on Sunday which will put them one game above .500 in conference. I think a blowout loss is all the committee needed to push them out of hosting but I could be wrong...
