What's been keeping Tennessee in the top 16 is their margin of loss. I assume they'll beat Georgia on Sunday which will put them one game above .500 in conference. I think a blowout loss is all the committee needed to push them out of hosting but I could be wrong...
Does UT get a numb to 16 because they have a quality venue and a large fanbase?

I thought TN was already 8-7 and a win over GA would put them at 9-7?

In any event I don't quite agree. Much to my chagrin, the main thing holding Tennessee's spot in the top 16 is the win over UConn. Tennessee was #16 In the first reveal in mid-February, and without the UConn win they wouldn't have been close to that, no matter how competitive they'd been in losses.

Since that first reveal, they picked up Quad 1 wins over Ole Miss and Alabama and bettered their overall seed to #12 for the 2nd reveal. One blowout loss to Kentucky might drop them a couple spots but not likely completely out of the top 16. The committee LOVES high-quality wins and no one else among that mess of teams vying for the final 5 hosting spots has a win as good as TN's win over UConn.

Watching this UNCG Mercer game, and the Mercer announcer was talking about the Spartans have won 15 of their last 16 games including 10 in a row. Then he proceeds to say UNCG is looking to making it 11 straight.... mind you the score was 68-28 with five minutes to go in the game.

Good news for bubble teams:

Saint Joseph's (Creme First Four Out) loses at home to Richmond (Creme 9-seed)

Already conference tournament season in the lower levels.... Division !! and

My Broncos of Fayetteville State repeat as CIAA champs

Missouri St. in big trouble heading into Q4 against Belmont. If they lose, there will be a 3 way tie for 1st in the Missouri Valley w/ 2 games left. Hold on for a bumpy finish!

edit--Belmont won 67-61

Gonzaga and Portland both win close games to finish 17-3 in the WCC. GU gets the tie breaker by virtue of sweeping the series and #1 seed in the conference tourney. Both get something like quadruple byes into the semifinal.

Okay, avert your eyes if you're squeamish...Brown beat Cornell 38-36, both teams shot 25%, combined 5-52 from 3. Both should be demoted from D1 immediately! Looks like Brown won it from the charity stripe going 14-21 to Cornell's 3-9.

Colorado also lost. Harvard lost to Princeton. Arizona won! in more bubble action.

Big game for Washington with Oregon tomorrow.

The Fox crew talking about Close saying this is the worst defensive rebounding UCLA squad she's coached is wild. Considering who she has on the roster, I would not have expected that statement.

I think this is the most talent she's ever had. They've always been known for rebounding, especially going after the O boards relentlessly. This is a different kind of UCLA team. While they have a big and deep front court, only 2 of them are on the floor at a time. I think some players from the past like Billings and Onyenwere had a higher motor than any of these current Bruins.

Usc taking it to bruins but Kiki and van oehl with 3 fouls before halftime

My NPOY "vote" has changed...

Wow, JuJu is just wrecking UCLA every time she sees them this year.

Rice and Betts have been just about invisible so far, Bruins can't survive that.

USC is collapsing on anyone who gets the ball on the block and it's working. UCLA hasn't come up with a counter yet.

UCLA seems to be missing...athleticism.

Need an APB on Betts. Thru 3 quarters, 6 points on 3-7 shooting. She has 5 TOs.

UCLA made a run in Q3 but USC answered, now running away in Q4. This is shocking to me.

I will say, Close's teams don't tend to peak at the end of the year. They do come out of the gate well though.

USC #1 on Monday? They might have my vote.

Will surely be Tex but could be close.

UCLA didn't mount even the tiniest bit of a rally in Q4. Avery Howell hit back to back 3's to push the lead to 18 or 19 w/ 7 or 8 minutes left and it was game over. Seems like UCLA missed every shot they took in the 4th quarter.

Four wins (and could be more). Two seasons.

UCLA has a Judea Skies Watkins problem.
