Week 11 games (Feb. 1-7)

Plebe is always raining on my parade
Ha, but I thought that was what you meant by "intriguing"?

Stunning!!!!

Miracle win for NAU Lumberjacks over a one win Sac State team. After trailing almost the entire second half the Jacks inbound the ball to Rashred with 1.3 seconds left and she scores the game-winning layup.

This was an incredible win for the Jacks as NAU steals the win on the back of Rasheed's 20 points 12 rebound double-double.

Time to tune in for Grand Canyon Antelope's basketball. 2:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time ESPN3 as the 11-3 Lopes take on UT Rio Grande.

Wright St. takes down Milwaukee again and Green Bay beats Northern Kentucky back to back.

Wright St. now leading the conference. There are 7 teams within 3 games of each other at the top, Horizon has to be one of the more intriguing conference races.

Cal Baptist probably won't beat New Mexico St. by 40 today but still has them doubled up, looking to improve to 16-0.

Chicago St. came up short last time by has another shot to maybe finally get a win against Utah Valley again. Up 2 midway thru Q2.

.-.
Grand Canyon Lopes turn UTRio Grande over 26 times (15 steals) and win 77-55. Freshman Katie Scott with 18 points in limited minutes as the Lopes resist looking ahead to the big series with Cal Baptist.

Good day for your Arizona schools.

Wow, Omaha over Western Illinois 105-102 in 2 OTs--game of the day? Never mind their records...

Cal Baptist jumped all over New Mexico St. 32-9 in Q1, looking to remain among the VERY few unbeatens left.

edit--UC Davis is also undefeated but has only played 5 games, and is at Oregon on Saturday so probably will pick up their first loss. Bucknell is the only other.
Cal Baptist is still in the transition period from D2 to D1 and thus are not eligible for the NCAAs
Their final 4 games are against Grand Canyon and Seattle who are the leaders for the automatic bid.

THEY should be #1! 110 wins against 3 defeats is pretty darn good.

And to think, I didn't even have them in my latest BY Top 25.
UConn fans consider 110-3 a decent 3 years.

Didn't realize that. Appears their transition period is going well.

Game of the day might be Florida International vs. Texas-San Antonio. 3 overtimes...currently, 104-101,1:31 left.

Any insight on the logic by the NCAA as to why penalize a school MOVING UP a division vs. preventing a school moving down a division? I don't get it, seems counterintuitive unless the D2 scholarships are completely different academically qualifying than D1.

I wondered that too. Most moving up a level aren't going to be good enough to qualify for the Tourney right away. If they are, why prevent them from doing so?

In Big South action... USC-Upstate sweeps UNC-Asheville..... Winthrop wins in OT tonight to get the split with Radford.. and High Point sweeps the Bucs of Charleston Southern. Its not easy to get victories in the Bucdome... so for HPU to win on back to back nights.. shows that HPU is back on track.

I remember in the late 80s.. early 90s... UNCG made the transition from DIII to DI. In their last year of transitioning to DI... they won the conference, but lost in the Conference Final. For some reason I think if they had won... they couldnt go to the NCAA tourney. Not sure why the Big South let them compete in the conference tournament if that was the case.

Good day for your Arizona schools.
Lopes have an NBA turnaround with an 11:00 MST a.m. pre super bowl tip against UTRGV. Certainly will be interesting who recovers faster or alternatively who has the more tired legs.

Looks like that was a pretty amazing game. Omaha trail by four with 27 seconds left in the game. They hit a layup. Western Illinois hits one of two free throws and with two seconds left Omaha hits a three to send the game into OT.

First overtime identical setup. Omaha trails by four with 27 seconds left. Omaha it's a shot with 15 seconds left and shooter is fouled. Shooter misses free throw but Omaha gets offensive rebound. Omaha then had to lay up with two seconds left to send the game into second overtime.

In second overtime Omaha takes the lead and never relinquishes - looks like a pretty exciting game.

Rematch today. Too tired teams. Wonder if it'll go OT again

UTRGV on an 8-0 run to take their first lead of the weekend.

Have to hope for the players they can settle it in regulation this time.

GaT hopes of being ranked in trouble -- down 49-43 to Wake in the 4th.

Former Baylor player Honesty Scott Grayson with 20 points (4-5 from 3) in the first half against Missouri for Auburn

What is it gonna take for people to realize there are not more than two top 25 teams in the ACC.

Somehow GT magically started getting votes recently even though they hadn’t beaten anyone outside the deep pool of mediocrity that resides in their conference.

Marq came back from double digits to get within 1 against DePaul but went cold in final 2 minutes. Missed 4 or 5 shots down the stretch, including multiple open 3s.

BDs up 5 with 27 sec.

Ohio St. leading Minnesota 39-30 at the half.

Dayton improved to 9-0 in conference and 10-1 overall.

tOSU exploded in the 2nd half, now up 60-36.

Lou in pink and ND in pink & gray. I get the pink, but I hate when teams (in any sport) use colors completely unrelated to their normal colors. Why not pink & light green or pink & gold?

Hard to find teams for #21-25. If a team in a P5 conference wins a bunch of games (without losing), it gets my attention.
