Rough stretch for IUPUI who was 6-0 in the Horizon before running into the buzzsaw that was Milwaukee last week, and then dropping another one to Green Bay tonight. It seems like the Horizon is Milwaukee's to lose this year; although, Northern Kentucky is still unbeaten in conference play so in theory they could catch up.
This is mainly why I've stopped trying to post listings for more than a few days out. I believe it was Wednesday when I posted games for today, and at latest count four of those games have since been postponed or canceled (not to mention all the games that had already been nixed before Wednesday).
Anyway, I greatly appreciate all the people who regularly chime in with the latest updates in this scheduling chaos.
I find it interesting that the South Dakota State–Denver matchup in the Summit League is being canceled outright, as opposed to postponed. There will be no attempt to make it up, I guess.
The Jacks right the ship 84-81 with a career high 27 points from junior point guard Regan Schenck. Regan was perfect from the field, 8 for 11 from the free throw line, had 12 rebounds and six assists.
Regan was eight for eight from the field, three for three from the three point line in a game high 37 minutes of action.
The Jacks had 13 more shots than Northern Colorado and never trailed in this important game.
NAU had 13 offensive rebounds, 15 steals and had the transition game going. For the Jacks to win they have to score and their scoring is clearly this year a function of running the ball through Schenck's hands and her being more aggressive in shooting.
Northern Kentucky beat Milwaukee again. And IUPUI finally got back in the win column. Horizon getting interesting. Wright St. is right in the middle of it and Green Bay isn't too far back.
For the second straight Saturday.. Presbyterian springs an upset over one of the conference leaders. The Blue Hose strangle the Lancers of Longwood by a score of 77-56.
Wow, what a meltdown by ND in the 4th quarter! Sorry, but I am not seeing any improvement in Game coaching by the anointed Niele Ivey here. This was just poor coaching in crunch time, waiting too long for taking a time out, not having ball movement, not cutting like in the 1st half and poor shot selection.
Oregon St. survives 84-74. It's been against bottom half teams, but I'm still happy w/ their 3 game winning streak. They look a lot better than earlier in the year. Getting von Oelhoffen has certainly helped.
