They had to move it back from 5pm.... as that interfered with the dinner time of most BY'ers :p
Oh I thought that the game was always scheduled for 5PM, ESPN just didn't realize that it was 5PM Central Time...

Nicholls extends its lead, 45-33, going to the 4th.

Can the Lady Colonels hold on?

Final from the Southland: Nicholls improves to 5-8 overall, and 5-2 in the Southland, with a 63-43 win over McNeese (4-7, 4-1 Southland).

A crucial road win that could push Nicholls' RPI and NET into the top 275.

I don't know what's harder to believe: that it's already the last week of January, or that it's already the tenth week of the season.

But I digress. This week's slate starts off with some intriguing gems, with the Maryland-Ohio State garnering marquee status. Maryland has been mostly cruising through challengers big and small since taking an early L to Missouri State. Ohio State, paying no attention to the doubters such as myself, has gone undefeated thus far, including an impressive road win to end Iowa's 3-year-long home court streak.

Tuesday's and Wednesday's schedule features a number of under-the-radar critical clashes in some mid-major races in the Ohio Valley (Belmont–UT Martin), Mountain West (Colorado State–Boise State) and Southland (Stephen F. Austin–Abilene Christian).

Thu., Jan. 28

Rutgers at #6 Maryland (4p, BTN). Postponed.
#3 NC State at Virginia Tech (4p, ACCNX).
Can Virginia Tech finally win a game that matters? Maybe the 8th time's the charm (dedicated to @LETTERL ).
Purdue at Minnesota (5p, BTN+)

#2 UConn at #18 Arkansas (6p, ESPN2). Rescheduled from 5p (thank you @Centerstream).
#22 Northwestern at Iowa (6p, BTN)
Alabama at #13 Kentucky (6:30p, SECN)
North Carolina at #1 Louisville (7p, ACCN)
#4 South Carolina at #21 Mississippi State (7p, ESPN)

Ole Miss at Tennessee (7p, SECN+)
LSU at #23 Georgia (7p, SECN+)
Montana at Montana State (7p, Pluto TV Channel 1057). Sponsored by @triaddukefan .
Rice at North Texas (7:30p, CUSA)
Iowa State at Kansas State (7:30p, ESPN+)

#19 Ohio State at #17 Indiana (8p, BTN)
#8 Texas A&M at Auburn (8:30p, SECN)
#16 Gonzaga at Pacific (10p, WCC)

== == ==

Games for the remainder of the week will be posted soon.

Games already played:

Mon., Jan. 25

Oklahoma State at Kansas State (5p, ESPN+)
Minnesota at Penn State (6p, BTN)
Texas Southern at Mississippi Valley State (6p, YouTube). The city slickers from the Third Ward make the trek east to Itta Bena. The best commentators in the land await them. Postponed
:(

#6 Maryland at #19 Ohio State (7p, ESPN2)
#18 Arkansas at #23 Georgia (7p, SECN)

St. John’s at Villanova (7p, FS1)
Nebraska at Illinois (8p, BTN)

Tue., Jan. 26

Miami at #1 Louisville (4p, ACCN)
Belmont at UT Martin (6p, ESPN+)
Washington at Oregon State (7p, live stream). Perhaps the most intriguing question heading into this clash of PNW titans, who are a combined 2-11 in conference play thus far, is: Which team will @nwhoopfan pull for?
TCU at #11 Baylor (8p, ESPN+)

Wed., Jan. 27

George Washington at VCU (11a, ESPN+)
Temple at #14 South Florida (4p, ESPN+). Postponed.
St. John’s at Georgetown (4p, BEDN)
Southern Illinois at Missouri State (4p, ESPN3)
Colorado State at Boise State (4p, Mountain West Network)
East Carolina at UCF (5p, ESPN+)
Central Michigan at Toledo (5:30p, ESPN+)

Stephen F. Austin at Abilene Christian (6:30p, ESPN+)
West Virginia at Texas Tech (7p, ESPN+)
Marquette at Villanova (7p, BEDN)
Butler at Creighton (7p, BEDN)
Northern Iowa at Drake (7p, ESPN+)
Bradley at Illinois State (7p, ESPN+)
Houston at Tulane (7p, ESPN+)
Ohio at Eastern Michigan (7p, ESPN+)

Nicholls at McNeese (7:30p)
Texas at Oklahoma State (7:30p, ESPN+)
Kansas at Oklahoma (8p, ESPN+)
#5 Stanford at Washington State (9:30p, P12N)
Also today (Thursday)

NAU v Northern Colo on Pluto TV 1059 at 6:30 Mountain Standard Time. While Montana versus Montana State is the key game in Big Sky today the Lumberjacks try to regain their winning ways. Northern Colorado is 5 and 5 in the Big Sky and immediately above the Jacks in the standings.

Also today in Big Ten play the Huskers take on the struggling Wisconsin Badgers at 6pm MST. Wisconsin has lost their last five in a row and Nebraska looks to improve their Big Ten record.

I will admit I was stunned to see Kate Cain listed as a defensive player of the year candidate. While she is an extremely effective shot blocker at 6'5 to say that she has limited mobility as an understatement. She clogs the middle well but her inability to move well leads to any number of opponent drives to the hoop. I think Cain is a classic example of a player who hasn't really developed during her time in college, particularly offensively. To quote Geno's halftime comment during the Georgetown game Cain's offense is offensive. It will be very interesting to see if she does play it the next level.

New Mexico Lobos take on Fresno State on Mountain West tv at 6pm MST.

Mountain West Network

The Lobos scoring has cooled since their torrid four games start to the season but at six and one they continue to be inspirational. Given New Mexico policy they are constantly on the road.

The Michigan State game has been moved to 1/28/2020 at 4 PM and will be on the BTN.

Other moves are expected.
ESPN now shows Ohio State @ Rutgers on 2/5. No official announcement yet though.

I found the "somebody has to win" game of the day--1-6 in conference Penn St. vs. 0-7 Illinois.

I like Carolyn Kieger and know that eventually, she'll get Penn State turned around but I'm rooting for Illinois in this one. Nancy Fahey REALLY needs a conference win.

Minnesota leading Purdue by 6 at halftime. Whalen suddenly looking like a competent coach lately.

Minny was up 8 or 9, but only leading by 2 heading into Q4. Gophers trying for a 3 game winning streak.

Big trouble. I thought Wake COULD win...but a 14-point margin is an eyebrow raiser.

Wake's a good team. But don't attempt trying to convince some others who post on here. They just look at the record and say "Blah".

In the battle of Montana, the MSU Bobcats are opening up a can of whoop....well, you know, on the UM Grizz. 47-28 most of the way thru Q3.

Ask Missouri State if Wake is any good.

NAU with another uninspired performance on the road at greeley. Northern Colorado leading 30 to 17 with a little over 4 minutes left in the half. I'm sure Loree Payne is pulling her hair out wondering what happened to defensive energy and intensity with her squad. And a team that started off the year gangbuster shooting has been in a horrific shooting slump got a month.
