Also today (Thursday)I don't know what's harder to believe: that it's already the last week of January, or that it's already the tenth week of the season.
But I digress. This week's slate starts off with some intriguing gems, with the Maryland-Ohio State garnering marquee status. Maryland has been mostly cruising through challengers big and small since taking an early L to Missouri State. Ohio State, paying no attention to the doubters such as myself, has gone undefeated thus far, including an impressive road win to end Iowa's 3-year-long home court streak.
Tuesday's and Wednesday's schedule features a number of under-the-radar critical clashes in some mid-major races in the Ohio Valley (Belmont–UT Martin), Mountain West (Colorado State–Boise State) and Southland (Stephen F. Austin–Abilene Christian).

NAU v Northern Colo on Pluto TV 1059 at 6:30 Mountain Standard Time. While Montana versus Montana State is the key game in Big Sky today the Lumberjacks try to regain their winning ways. Northern Colorado is 5 and 5 in the Big Sky and immediately above the Jacks in the standings.
Also today in Big Ten play the Huskers take on the struggling Wisconsin Badgers at 6pm MST. Wisconsin has lost their last five in a row and Nebraska looks to improve their Big Ten record.
I will admit I was stunned to see Kate Cain listed as a defensive player of the year candidate. While she is an extremely effective shot blocker at 6'5 to say that she has limited mobility as an understatement. She clogs the middle well but her inability to move well leads to any number of opponent drives to the hoop. I think Cain is a classic example of a player who hasn't really developed during her time in college, particularly offensively. To quote Geno's halftime comment during the Georgetown game Cain's offense is offensive. It will be very interesting to see if she does play it the next level.
New Mexico Lobos take on Fresno State on Mountain West tv at 6pm MST.
Mountain West Network
The Lobos scoring has cooled since their torrid four games start to the season but at six and one they continue to be inspirational. Given New Mexico policy they are constantly on the road.
