I like to compile a list of notable games each week to help me plan my own viewing. Generally speaking, the list includes games of top 25 teams (ranking noted according to BY25 poll) plus teams "receiving votes" and maybe a smattering of others that could be of interest.

Please chime in with any corrections or additions. We can use this thread to talk about upcoming games we're looking forward to or to comment on games just played. But just a reminder: Per board rules, no "game threads" (comments about the action of a game in progress) are allowed.

Marquee matchups are highlighted in bold.

Man... what a dilemma for tomorrow afternoon. My Aggies play the hated Tarheels at 4:30.... at 5pm the huge matchup in Raleigh..... the same time as My Panthers open up their brand new arena vs HuskyNan's Phoenix.... after that... Duke Women play at 7... then Duke's men play Kentucky at 9:30.:confused:

Notre Dame vs. Ohio doesn't even make the list for Tuesday. How the mighty have fallen.
Lol the ultimate indignity. Missing the NCAAs is one thing, but this ...

The list for Tuesday was so unwieldy that I took the big clippers to it. Must have shorn too close. My mistake.

Get that work out session in early is all I can recommend.

Maryland's game is underway and so is the season! Finally!

I tell ya, Brenda has become known for losing players to transfer, but she gets as good as she gives. Three of her starters today are transfers (Collins, Bibby, Benzan). Those three plus Owusu and Reese make a very strong starting 5.

.-.
Terps up 13 pts at the half against the mighty Lancers of Longwood.

47-34

I'm sure Brenda will reach in to her bag of inspirational locker room speeches.

Omaha giving Iowa State a battle leading after Q1.

I'm not really sure how to manage the "no game threads" rule because there are clearly people who want to talk about games in progress -- the only solution might be a catch all thread?

I am jealous for other fanbases who are getting games so early.

Milwaukee and Ball State has been a fun, if low scoring, game to watch. Both teams playing some good defense, but now getting their offenses going.

.-.
What’s astonishing is that Milwaukee sunk 25 of 28 free throws as a team. Can my team shoot like that please? Ball State has the ball back with a chance to win with 6.1 seconds on the clock. Milwaukee leads 72-70.

Ball State looks to pull it out in OT. What a great game to watch. So happy games are back.

No game threads. Use the chat.

Angel Reese with 21 and 14 for the Terps. That's maybe their biggest X Factor for title hopes.

Khayla Pointer opens with a triple double for Mulkey. 16, 11 reb, 13 ast. LSU 82-40 F over Nicholls State.

Montana State(Big Sky) struggling with Carroll College(Montana-non D) Carroll up 14-10 late first qtr.

I think the biggest thing about the Maryland win was the great play of freshman Shyanne Sellers. 17 points in her debut. She'll fill in nicely as Diamond sits with her leg pain. Mimi Collins also had a great game.

MN down 62-61 to Jacksonville with 3+ minutes left

Jacksonville was just 4-17 last season. You have to think that Whalen's seat is now scorching hot if they can't pull it out.

Is it too late for every member of next year's top recruiting class to reclassify and join the team early? lol

Only slightly. I mean, they need those recruits....and soon.

Yikes. Jacksonville pulls it out despite a 3 from Hubbard with 3 seconds remaining to pull Minnesota within 1. Jacksonville sends Whalen's Squad to 0-1. Big win for the ASUN.

In fairness Jacksonville was dealing with a lot of injuries last season. At one point they had 4 scholarship players and used players from other sports to fill their roster. The record has a lot of asterisks to it from my view.

Tulane pulled away late from SE Lousiana 66-58, Ursin was fun to watch, she only had 2 points in the first half but came out hot in the 3rd quarter with 13 points and finished with 15pts/8 rebounds

Major yikes, I would think the seat is on fire for Whalen now, I would be shocked if they keep her. I know its the first game of the season, but Minn has unfortunately continued to trend downward and doesn't seem to be changing soon.

Ooof. Even if they pull this out, it's an inauspicious home opener for the Wobbling Whalens.
MN loses 69-66
Sara Scalia (B10 Honorable Mention) had some rough TO's at the end.

I was at the MD game. Reese had a decent game but the 14 reb are deceiving against a shorter & pesky Longwood team. 8/14 of the reb were offensive b/c she either missed or got her shot blocked ‍♂️ a lot today. & that was b/c she goes up with the ball too low so the smaller defenders were able to swipe at the ball easily.

Mimi Collins might push her for that starting 5 spot when Diamond comes back from injury. Mimi had 16 pts & 6 reb. (2/4 from 3-pt) (5/9 overall)… 14 in the 1st half.

The real star today was freshman “Shyanne Sellers” with 17 pts (3/5 from 3-pt), 3 reb, 2 ast & 3 stl off the bench.
