It’s offensive you actually put him in the same sentence as Rashad. He has been the same player since day 1 like I said. Thanks for sharing the totals though so I didn’t have to look it up. Pretty telling that Rashad basically doubled his attempts in one less season lol.

He can have that percentage stat, anyone who follows this program understands he has a handful of great games a year and disappears the rest. It is what it is, glad he’s a Husky but I’ll never consider him one of the best shooters in program history

Nova just shot 13-50 against cuse ( 26% ) and still win by 14. Because they don’t beat themselves in other aspects of game.

That's what I mean though, they shot 26% which is their version of a bad shooting night. That's almost double what our percentage was.

Makes or attempts alone don't determine the quality of the shooter.

If only we had a stat that took the two of them combined in order to give us a way to compare....

We'll just disagree. He's a streaky shooter. BUt definitely a good one. You exclude anyone's good performances and they'll look bad. That's a weird way of judging someone's ability.

He looked a little unsure last night. And forced a few too, but at least he shot it. Not getting a shot in 30 seconds is inexcusable.

He doesn't shoot more because he's been a catch and shoot guy. Unlike Ben Gordon, or Shabazz, who also had great handles and could create their own shots.

Not sure if you've been watching UConn the past 5 years, but we haven't exactly had the offensive firepower we had when Rashad was playing with guys like Okafor, Gordon, Boone, Gay, Villanueva, Brown. Makes it tougher to get guys open shots when there's not 1 (never mind 2 or 3) guy that you have to plan for defensively. We also played at a MUCH slower pace while Polley has been here. Slower pace, fewer possessions, fewer shots for everyone. Lastly, he's missed nearly a full season due to injury and COVID cancellations.

You can move the goalposts, but all we've argued is that the argument that he isn't a good shooter is objectively false. Statistically, he's one of the 5-10 best we've ever had. There's nothing subjective about it.

This is prime example of this board being laughably negative after a loss. Now Polley isnt a good shooter. Ignore the fact he damn near carried us to our best win of the season to date. Or that he's consistently a 40% three point shooter throughout his career. Forget all that and call the kid a bad shooter because he had a bad night. ZERO objectivity

against Auburn, MSU, VCU, and WVU good competition, not bottom 300 kenpom, he is 6-20 and those 6 were against Auburn.

I like Polley and glad he’s here like I’ve said, but I don’t lump him in with our best career shooters to have come through here. Idc what his stats are, that is all I’m saying.

I did some more digging on the Top 5-10 three point percentage argument since that Sports Reference leaders isn’t accurate. I’m sure I’m missing some more, but I drummed these guys up and somehow they were overlooked on that along with Bazz, Boat, and Smith

Doron Sheffer - 39.7%
Rudy Gay - 37.8% (only two seasons and smaller sample)
Marcus Williams - 37.5%
AJ Price - 36.5% (hit 158 3s in 3 seasons, Polley has 151 made on season 5, AJ is a better shooter imo)

Safe to say Polley isn’t top 10, sorry bub!
