I can’t root for Duke but there is an argument to be made that it would be the best thing for us from a competitive standpoint in that whatever Duke does this year will be at least somewhat closed in the coach K chapter and regardless of whether or not they win this year ppl will gargle his Spauldings the same amount when looking back.

Whereas any of the others we fully compete with the weight of the title in terms of recruiting going forward.

Kansas is the only school we don't regularly compete with for recruits. Rooting for anyone else is rooting against UConn's best interest.

I tend to think that the Big East is endangered given the landscape of college sports. It's always endanger of dropping a class to the top 3 or 4 conferences.

This is why Nova doing well is important. When Jay Wright leaves, UConn better have its act together because the league will need someone to be that nationally dominant team. They won't replace Wright overnight, if at all.
