I was using the old lottery pick definition not top 4.
Always a good call to use old lottery numbers when pretending to be a winner.
I was using the old lottery pick definition not top 4.
Yeah, if we actually play these games....I can’t be mad about this. It gives Bouk time to recover.
Also Andre and Akok can get more practices under their belt.
But the officials were wearing masks.... Given the theory on masks as a an excellent preventative measure to passing on the disease, I would think that everything should be A-OK.... No? If not, then....
Only 1 was wearing a mask. Watch the first minute of the game. I wonder which one tested positive? But the officials were wearing masks.... Anyone who doesn’t make the playoffs is in the draft lottery. They all have a chance to have the top 4 picks. If they don’t get them they are then put in order. But all those picks are still considered lottery picks."Under the current rules, only the top four picks are decided by the lottery, and are chosen from the 14 teams that do not make the playoffs."
I'm not sure the sample size is large enough at current to definitively say that Bouknight is a "lottery" pick, let alone top 4. Looks like the most current Mock from NBA Draft dot net has him going to Cleveland at 15.
While #15 is solidly in the 1st round, it is an 8 seed in the playoffs.
UConn will have to wait for its chance to try to knock off a top five team for the first time since 2014.
The Huskies will be in a modified quarantine and enter a daily testing protocol, not competing again until deemed safe and given the green light by medical professionals. The team's level of activity will be determined after testing and contact tracing...
Butler will play its next game as scheduled against Xavier Friday. Only UConn, which is following state guidelines and protocols, is sidelined.
Which is why "lottery" is in quotes.Anyone who doesn’t make the playoffs is in the draft lottery. They all have a chance to have the top 4 picks. If they don’t get them they are then put in order. But all those picks are still considered lottery picks.
It's funny how you chose the 1 mock draft that has him outside the lottery by 1 pick, as opposed to all the other recent updates where he's going 9th and 10thWhich is why "lottery" is in quotes.
Besides, according to that source, Bouk is not a lottery pick in the first place.

Point is every team out of the playoffs is in the lottery just that only the top 4 teams “win” so your point about saying top 4 players are the actually the only lottery picks is wrong.Which is why "lottery" is in quotes.

It continues to amaze me that people don’t get this, or pretend not to get it.Wrong. It's about minimizing the spread of the virus. Are sheep usually as uninformed as you appear to be?

I'll admit that it was neither a comprehensive, nor scientific analysis. I clicked on a recent link after a simple search. It's funny how you chose the 1 mock draft that has him outside the lottery by 1 pick, as opposed to all the other recent updates where he's going 9th and 10th

I don’t see bouk’s stock trending in the right direction until he returns to the court at this point, so I would expect him to drift further out of the lottery.
Darius Garland played 5 games in college and went #5 overall. Bouknight's sample of play is more than enough to go top 10.I'll admit that it was neither a comprehensive, nor scientific analysis. I clicked on a recent link after a simple search.
Your opinion that the Bouk's sample size of play is adequate to be a single digit pick. I'm not so sure it's enough for top 14. I also don't think it is a big deal that we do not agree.
Again, that is why "lottery" was in quotes.
I agree that Bouk's stock will not increase if he does not return this year. Dare I say, he needs one more season of normal basketball. It's not a bad thing necessarily. Kemba regressed in 2010 (plateaued at best, IMO). Similarly though, if Bouk decides to return, UConn is a '22 National Title contender.
Thanks for your ironical jab at anti-maskers. Two of the refs were not wearing masks. They could have used an excellent preventative measure and increased our chance of playing this weekend. But the officials were wearing masks.... Given the theory on masks as a an excellent preventative measure to passing on the disease, I would think that everything should be A-OK.... No? If not, then....
Indiana state guidelines and protocols for public health should not be your measuring stick during normal times, let alone a Global pandemic.
This feels to me like the sad reality. And it's not contradicted by the trajectory of Dan Hurley's comments over the last few weeks. But it's entirely possible that what's going on behind the scenes is nothing like this. Obviously, I'm pulling for the latter.I think Covid gives an athlete viable cover for not playing and minimizes risk....both from the virus and injury...If you are already a top 10 pick...what do you have to gain by playing?
I'm not saying Bouk will hurt his draft stock, I'm just thinking it's possible. He's been ranked in the high single digits (8/9 maybe?). He can't go any higher than #1, but he can go a lot lower. What if he comes back, is rusty, playing a little tentative after the injury?
I hope he comes back, but if I was his advisor, I would tell him he really needs to consider the +/- of playing/not playing.
Connecticut has done a way better job than Indiana.Connecticut is 7th worse in deaths per million with 1,976 deaths per million.
Indiana is 14th with 1,474 deaths for every million.
So don't hate on the Hoosier state. The truth is that nobody knows the science. Connecticut is very cautious about some things, less cautious about others. I'm just frustrated like everyone else.
FIFYStupid that Butler is playingand we aren't. SMH, what a ****show.
He just quoted stats that Indiana has fewer deaths per capita. How is that doing better?Connecticut has done a way better job than Indiana.
Is this a serious question? He just quoted stats that Indiana has fewer deaths per capita. How is that doing better?
I know absolutely nothing about what Indiana is doing. A metric that shows them with fewer deaths seems to be a positive indicator. Is this a serious question?
They haven't done much of anything, they were just a lot more fortunate than CT. in terms of geography and when the virus actually hit the state as opposed to CT.I know absolutely nothing about what Indiana is doing. A metric that shows them with fewer deaths seems to be a positive indicator.
Not by the numbers. Just like in basketball, that’s how you keep score. Like in business feel good/you care activity should not be confused with results.Connecticut has done a way better job than Indiana.
Button blinks the arena lights twice. That'll get people's attention. 😁or give the ref a button that triggers the switch that lights up the backboard...it's not really that hard
Is that your scientific answer? The virus didn't "hit" Indiana. They haven't done much of anything, they were just a lot more fortunate than CT. in terms of geography and when the virus actually hit the state as opposed to CT.
Maybe if you're a simpleton that's how you keep score. Not by the numbers. Just like in basketball, that’s how you keep score. Like in business feel good/you care activity should not be confused with results.
