One thing I teach my management teams is that it is imperative to have honest conversations with each other to be able to grow as a operation, a team, & most importantly as a individual.
Even after we won in '14 we knew we wouldn't be as good the following year.
Soft?Quite an indictment. Need to play "harder", be "tougher", more "competitive", more "physical".
Good lord, if you aren't those things, what ARE you ?
Wonder if he showed them clips of Ollie not fighting with the refs
Do I dare bring up the possibility that players were looking at refs because they knew their coach wasn't working refs over for them?
It is hard to even imagine how bad Hurley’s predecessor was. And to think that there are still some who think he should still be the coach![]()

I love this Hurley quote.
He would gain nothing by making any digs. I don't expect to see it. The most we will get is generalities about the team i.e. the toughness he's talked aboutI think Hurley is too classy to make digs at Ollie. Also think he would cut it off if the kids did.
Hurley would not dare to do that until he wins championship or his players gets 1000 on the APR. Tough act for him to followI think Hurley is too classy to make digs at Ollie. Also think he would cut it off if the kids did.

But really, Hurley already has taken a few shots at Ollie, I mean, if we're being honest with ourselves here.Hurley would not dare to do that until he wins championship or his players gets 1000 on the APR. Tough act for him to follow
Are they currently posting that here?It is hard to even imagine how bad Hurley’s predecessor was. And to think that there are still some who think he should still be the coach![]()
Unlike you here, he's getting his points across in a forward-moving way. You know this, and also know that daring to be a jerk isn't a spoil of success on or off the court.Hurley would not dare to do that until he wins championship or his players gets 1000 on the APR. Tough act for him to follow
Come on, you just replied to one of them. Are they currently posting that here?
In my defense, I thought he was just being a jerk and not possibly seriousCome on, you just replied to one of them.
Gilbert is not cleared to play yet, correct? It looks like Hurley has split up the team into 2 teams(blue and grey) that are constantly competing against each other. Blue: BA, JA, MD, JC, TP, Jump vs Grey: TS, CV, JW, EC, SW, AG
Honeymoon period. Every UConn coach is next Jim Calhoun and every team is the next national champs until the whistle blows in November.I'm not going to dwell on the past, but the turnaround in attitude here is astonishing. I am very excited for the future of UConn basketball.

I like what I'm hearing and I'm hopeful, but I will be surprised if we are a tournament team. If is just a long way from where we were to there. I think we have big personnel issues. I do think that we'll be a better team that is less painful to watch though. If it is more than that, I'll be pleasantly surprised.Come on. This is where I point out that we were the worst coached team in D1 basketball the last two years. It seems obvious from the players themselves that things are very different.

No, they have him participating but no contact.Gilbert is not cleared to play yet, correct?
