The pressure has been building for weeks within the fan base and I am sure the Big Donor was in the ear of the AD since Navy (maybe even since ME). And Benedict should have been all over Diaco as well.
You see taking ownership, and I can buy that viewpoint being valid. But I see it as more of a move he was forced to make than a move he wanted to make. It is admitting failure with his hiring of Verducci. And BD does not strike me as a man that admits failure. Which is a good trait to have sometimes and a fatal flaw at other times.
