Fouled by ONO, lol. Welcome to the W rookie!Kaitlyn just entered tonight's game and scored her first basket (an and-one).
She pushed off and hit the defender’s throat instead of the chest. How did kaitlyn Chen get a technical foul?
You mean the refs saw that and called it?She pushed off and hit the defender’s throat instead of the chest.
Must have been a very short defender! She pushed off and hit the defender’s throat instead of the chest.
Agree. This team - and coach - have to be the brightest and biggest surprise of the W season. Wish them much success.Huge 4th-quarter rally for the Valkyries. What a pleasant surprise they've been.
The quartet of Hayes, Bibby, Amihere and Martin combined for 45 points off the bench.
Can't tell you how impressed I've been with every single decision from the GSV's. I'll admit I was completely confused originally with their expansion draft choices, and drafting Joceyte #5 seemed silly, especially if they knew she was going to forego the W this season, but who knows what the future will hold? If they make the playoffs, they might end up with the a lower top 10 pick, but getting Juste next season would be like getting a pair of top 10 picks.Chen, along with Amihere, Bibby, Hall, and Powers, all took the floor late in the 4th tonight. All five signed with the Valks in the past 2 weeks. All 5 (and every player suited to play tonight) scored. Has this ever happened in the W? When Chen scored Ballhalla erupted. Her +/-must have been at least +15 for the night. And even into the last seconds when Hall and Powers put points on the board, the place went wild. We're building something special here, and I just wish we could keep more of our players for the whole season.![]()
I agree that Kaitlyn needs to score consistently to stick in the W. She has always been a scorer who could take over games when she had to, which frequently happened at Princeton. With all the great scorers at UConn Kaitlyn sacrificed her scoring to become a facilitator and defender.Chen was able to be hugely successful at UConn without scoring much, if at all. This won't work for her in the W and I was thrilled to see her not only looking for teammates for assists, but also hunting her shot. The ONLY way she sticks is if she shows she is capable offensively. She's showing she can do it! So happy for her!!
Plus it doesn't hurt that the fans adore her...
