Chen, along with Amihere, Bibby, Hall, and Powers, all took the floor late in the 4th tonight. All five signed with the Valks in the past 2 weeks. All 5 (and every player suited to play tonight) scored. Has this ever happened in the W? When Chen scored Ballhalla erupted. Her +/-must have been at least +15 for the night. And even into the last seconds when Hall and Powers put points on the board, the place went wild. We're building something special here, and I just wish we could keep more of our players for the whole season. :)

Can't tell you how impressed I've been with every single decision from the GSV's. I'll admit I was completely confused originally with their expansion draft choices, and drafting Joceyte #5 seemed silly, especially if they knew she was going to forego the W this season, but who knows what the future will hold? If they make the playoffs, they might end up with the a lower top 10 pick, but getting Juste next season would be like getting a pair of top 10 picks.

And they seem to be doing everything right - the fans love the team, KNOW the team - go bonkers when favorites like Chen come in, and then even more bonkers when they score.

I'm not sure what the players are doing out in the community, or what sort of outreach the organization has, but I've noticed as the camera pans around the stadium and the fans, it's a HUGE melting pot of races, ages, and sexes. They seem to really have gotten the memo on how to build a team, build a fan base, and they hired a great young coach to boot.

Portland and Toronto should spend a LOT of time visiting and copying what Golden State has done...

The Valkyries are looking more and more like a playoff team every day and Nakase has to be the early favorite for COY. Another solid game by Kaitlyn who played 25 minutes off the bench with 10 pts, 2 rebounds & 2 assists. She shot 3/4 including her 1st 3pt make in the W along with another “and one” on a drive to the basket. She has already become a fan favorite in SF and has a really good shot at becoming part of the Valkyries core roster moving forward.

Chen was able to be hugely successful at UConn without scoring much, if at all. This won't work for her in the W and I was thrilled to see her not only looking for teammates for assists, but also hunting her shot. The ONLY way she sticks is if she shows she is capable offensively. She's showing she can do it! So happy for her!!

Plus it doesn't hurt that the fans adore her...

I agree that Kaitlyn needs to score consistently to stick in the W. She has always been a scorer who could take over games when she had to, which frequently happened at Princeton. With all the great scorers at UConn Kaitlyn sacrificed her scoring to become a facilitator and defender.

She is a smart young lady who’s quickly figuring things out in the W. I’m really excited to see her performance to date.

I was at the game last night! First WNBA game I have ever seen in person, and have to say it was AWESOME! The Valkyries fans have given a new nickname to the Chase Center; as a knockoff to the mythological kingdom of “Valhalla” the locals call the stadium “Ballhalla”. I can attest, that place was absolutely rocking!

We road tripped it over to watch that particular game because it was against the Seattle Storm and Gabby is our local girl and thus our favorite. In honesty, I really hadn’t been paying all that much attention to the new franchise, but in the end, as it turns out, we are now Valkyries fans! Have now booked tickets for July 25th when Paige and the Wings come to Ballhalla. Just can’t wait for that.

As far as last evenings game, Gabby had a difficult night. But not Tip; it was the Tiffany Hayes show all night! The Valkyries just plain dominated the Storm last night. Kaitlyn played at least half of the game, and made some very impressive plays. I think she had three separate break away full court passes to her teammate(s) who were streaking to the basket. At least one where she stole the ball and drove the distance for a breakaway layup on the other end. And she hustles, diving for balls going out of bounds!

Laeticia Amihere, although being a Gamecock which makes it hard for me, is in fact exciting to watch! And Veronica Burton who Paige could certainly use in Dallas this year is wonderful. The Wing's sure should have protected her! Oh, they have Kate Martin as well.

So, yea, I guess the summary is, that we are now Valkyrie fans…

I can't believe that the Storm has lost twice to the Valkyries and badly in this 2nd loss. And, to think that two UConn WBB alums were instrumental in this particular game in their win......I didn't see the game but if I am to conclude something from the stats, I would say the Valkyries' defense was superb.

What? How can that be? What happened to the Storm's defense? There have been some question mark games from the Storm this season....when they seemed not able to get untracked.
