There is some talk about uneven revenue sharing amoung the ACC members to accomodate the likes of FSU, UNC, etc. That path will not end well for the likes of WF, BC, etc. At some point in a world where money matters most in terms of the ability to compete, there is no use continuing to try to compete.
My sense is a lot of people want to hold onto the notion that college athletics as it used to be. We're in a world of professional sport franchises with unfettered free agency. The vast majority of college athletic departments will not be able to compete in this world.
