NO not BouknightInconsistent both in practice on AND off the court says a Charlotte friend
Weirdly enough we couldn’t be where we are without Bouknight. His talent was a recruitment selling point in the turnaround yearsNO not Bouknight
Didn't see that one coming
Bouk v. RipBouk
Something just doesn't add up. I thought he would have a similar or even better career than Rip. (Boy was I wrong) He had all the tools. Last year is was the coach. Earlier this year it was the incident. He has been nailed to the bench outside of a few cameos in garbage time. Seems like his career is eroding. A close buddy of mine and I had a bet about the better NBA career between Bouk and David Duke Jr. I stupidly took Duke early on. Figured it was a certain loser after their 20/21 seasons. Bouk was destined to great things, Who would have thought that maybe Duke ends up better over the long term? Is there still time for Bouk? Can he turn it around? He was the next great Husky pro. We need more of them.
Bouk is a rare talent. He has also been injury prone during his career including Uconn. Let's not kid ourselves every NBA roster spot is filled with rare talent. Bouk was only occasionally dominant at UConn. Let's not overstate his ability to dominate at this level.
Rip never did anything on or off the court that hurt his chances of succeeding at the NBA level. He was a model citizen and player.
And did Rip get in the slightest bit of trouble? Ever? NO.For what it's worth, I seem to recall Rip being "in the car" when El Amin got arrested for buying weed in Hartford after the 99 Championship and before the draft...
After that year’s performance, the cop should have given them some weed from the station. Legends! And did Rip get in the slightest bit of trouble? Ever? NO.
I think the incident with bouk passed out in his car with a loaded gun tells you everything you need to know. Either alcohol, drug or ment health issues affecting him.The thing about being a professional basketball player is that it takes at least some professionalism. I go back to his antics at Gampel last season as a fan. Many on here thought it was funny, many even thought it was cool, but to others (including myself) it showed a lack of the professionalism that any organization would want in an asset.
He has the physical talent. Maybe he has it in him to be professional and he’ll figure it out. But maybe he also just doesn’t have it in him. Many physically gifted young men just didn’t have what it took to be professional.
Didn’t know a better place to put it. Congrats to JC for laying the foundation, as well as Glen, Jeff & Tyler for running with it
Meant to say Alterique is playing in Estonia.I don't know if it's been said yet, but Alternative Gilbert is now playing on Estonia and Sid Wilson is playing for a team in Lebanon.
He signed some good contractsYou do realize that Lamb played ten years in the NBA, right ? He was never a "star" in the NBA, but a 10 year career is pretty significant. I would never assume anyone had that in them, least of all Bouknight
Seeing Rip come up a lot in this thread so I figured this is the best place to post this funny short.

I don't think that's the case - maybe for some players who aren't in Storrs anymoreWeirdly enough we couldn’t be where we are without Bouknight. His talent was a recruitment selling point in the turnaround years
It was funny (I was there with a teenager who loved it) & stupid at the same time. Thinking about it Ray Allen (consummate pro) would never ever do something like that.It was funny. People are capable of recognizing his behavior is unprofessional and that particular incident was funny. Those same people could also have figured pretty quickly that he didn't have what it takes to be a solid NBA player. All of those things can be true at the same time.
42 minutes for Kemba given the state of his knee was irresponsible
Kemba with 32, including this bucket to send it to OT. Still got it.
When fans of the NBA claim that today’s players are better than the players from the ‘60s ‘70s and ‘80s…they’re full of bs.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooof this is a bad takeWhen fans of the NBA claim that today’s players are better than the players from the ‘60s ‘70s and ‘80s…they’re full of bs.
