I was looking at that chart trying to figure out what H, A, and N meant - thinking it was tied to the probability of a possible loss, etc. Then I realized it's "home, away, neutral" LOL. Took me a minute tho!!

I wonder in retrospect whether it was a good idea to entirely ditch the RPI in ranking teams, as it seems to have encouraged certain powerhouse teams to schedule mostly cupcake teams in their non-conference schedules. LSU's schedule is so bad their RPI is 84 (Georgia's schedule is hardly better; they're at 82). Both teams have only one Quad 1 and one Quad 3 win, with 11 in Quad 4.

I've never been convinced NET is at all an improvement over RPI, and I don't really like the Quads either.

I don't think any of them are perfect, of course. It is a combination of different statistical measures (and eye tests) that ultimately probably lead to the best evaluation.

The problem with RPI is that it could be "gamed". As early as the mid-90's we received an article through the WBCA giving the details of how to do it. Authored by an unidentified coach - who wasn't particularly in favor of doing it. I always suspected the anonymous coach was PHS, but no proof.

Of course, they probably all can be gamed, I'm just not up on how to do it.

I don't think LSU's (or other teams with weak schedules) are benefiting particularly under the current rating system, which does reward quads. And SOS factors into NET, as well.

Remember the year Oregon lost to ALL the good teams in the Pac 12, yet their NET score never was effected? They had a higher NET than a bunch of teams that had beaten them at least once and sometimes twice. It made no sense, since those other schools were also playing a Pac 12 schedule. That was the year I knew the NET formula doesn't work.

Speaking of ugly. Michigan beats Oregon in 2OT despite shooting 41% from the foul line (16/38) and having 26 turnovers.
I watched that whole game and it was brutal. That was not the Michigan team we played. Olsen made far too many selfish plays. The whole game saw Ashley Sofilanich dominate inside with Olsen in foul trouble but near the end, Olivia simply did not try to get the ball inside to Ashley and took far too many silly shots. 16-38 left 22 points off the score board. I will simply attribute it to one bad game but my eye is on them and if they learn from it.

Today and tomorrow will see a few of the Undefeated teams fall. Specially, Alabama and Georgia but watch list games are ASU (Utah) and LSU (Kentucky) have some tougher teams to face

Maryland loses in a dogfight of a game against Illinois (with some odd officiating both ways, I might add).

I guess UConn's "territory" will be expanding on the next Reddit map of undefeated teams, lol.

Maryland and Notre Dame lost to unranked teams today. Didn’t expect either of those.

I guess it was a dogfight, at least in the sense of being a close game. But the level of play seemed quite low to me on both sides, very static, very unorganized. And what on earth has become of Garzon’s offense in the second half? Wasn’t she a sniper at Indiana?
