I was surprised by Pete Calin's opinion as well that this year's team has the most talent in 20 years. The team Edsall handed off to Pasqualoni in 2011 had 8 (maybe more) NFL players on it. That is a higher bar than "TNT" thinks.

Great video and agreed that our O is such an unexpected breath of fresh air this year. You ain't kiddin' Jim and the numbers don't lie. ( I know it's only 5 games) But sometimes it probably just takes the will to change things up. Unlike all of these former rinse and repeat DC's turned HC's who've never been willing and sold us the need for grind it out/clock control Northeast FB.
So huge shout out to Coach Mora ( and Gordie), since its been years ( 2009 w/ a Uconn team over 30 PPG). Out with the Rhino/rugby/1 WR sets or constant bubble screens And in with a wide open offense/ 4-5 wide outs, passes down field and giving that talent a chance to play in space. It's fun football to watch !

Terry Caulley comes to mind.Great video and agreed that our O is such an unexpected breath of fresh air this year.
Apropos of nothing, I think Mel is the best ‘stick your foot in the ground and go’ runner we’ve had since moving to FBS. He’s fun to watch
No QB or RBThe team Edsall handed off to Pasqualoni in 2011 had 8 (maybe more) NFL players on it. That is a higher bar than "TNT" thinks.
Could have been the best.Terry Caulley comes to mind.
Great call. I think he was more smooth and shifty than foot in the ground. Certainly not a hill for me to die on. He was one our best all time.Terry Caulley comes to mind.
Didn’t learn after the FAU game?
Very good point. Also the offensive line's depth wasn't that great either. No QB or RB
I agree, they are what the 3rd closest FBS team?Call me crazy, but I'd like to see temple on the schedule fairly regularly.

BC, Rutgers, UMass…missing anyone else?
True, but it didn't need to shake out that way.No QB or RB

Congrats on the win in advance. As a Temple fan, reading this thread it's pretty much spot on. Temple hit on two great hires (Golden and Rhule), a decent one (Geoff Collins) and completely whiffed on Rod Carey (who had no understanding of the Philadelphia culture) and Stan Drayton, who reached the Peter Principle (his ultimate level of competence was RB coach). Temple can't run the football, can't stop the run and can't protect the quarterback and that's a losing trifecta. It feels pretty cool to be approaching UConn football games with something other than dread.
