I just read some posts on the Temple thread. They want to fire their entire coaching staff and are lamenting that they are the only FBS team to not beat us by 20 points, cuz we're the worst team apparently (and that we left the AAC cuz we couldn't compete). You know, before I felt sorry for them, now I'll just say "ya lost, suck it up". We paid our bottom 10 dues and can enjoy some fresh air for a change.

They had done that for a few plays including the prior “brotherly shove” that got their last short yardage first.Temple putting in a different QB for the final play saved us. Did not learn this until I read a Temple report from the game. Very poor coaching decision.
Incredible work by Danny Hynes:
We know what Temple fans must be feeling. Dropping football is such a nonsensical nuclear option when they're other avenues to explore. Despite myself getting irritated when outsiders come here telling us to go/drop into a lesser league, I gotta wonder if the MAC makes more sense for Temple rather than the AAC. They could easily compete with MAC teams while having a geographically sensible conference. Also, they would be able to schedule competitive out of conference games with us or other G5s and a 1-2 Px teams per year.Opinion article in Philly inquirer asks if it’s time for Temple to drop football. Familiar themes - losing seasons, no on campus stadium, members of AAC, with no rivals, low attendance. Makes me want to pull for them.
the problem is much like UConn is that temple has a historical basketball legacy they don't want to let go of. UMass has for realpolitik but but I don't think Temple wants to go down that road.We know what Temple fans must be feeling. Aye, Temple during the Chaney years had some solid teams. Admittedly, I don't know or recall how they've been since he left them almost 20 years ago, or how they would perceive themselves (basketball wise) in the MAC, but I would imagine they could be yearly contenders for conference champs.the problem is much like UConn is that temple has a historical basketball legacy they don't want to let go of.
