Home crowd is overrated in these dome games. They better be. That’d be like us playing in NYC in the 1999 F4

28/44 Uconn - two guys have us winning it. Will be curious to see if the line moves at all. With you that I think we should win this one and then it's really gravy, but do like the dynamic of the winner of the second game squeezing the last drop and thinking the NC a walk in park on short rest.
GP consistently has some of the dumbest takes out there. He likes to think he's a math savant of some sort and regularly tries to convince himself of a choice based on some random data, like that. The fact he's taking Illinois would be in our favor - he is always wrong. Took Purdue to beat us.Gary Parrish was salivating over Illinois margin of victory in the tournament vs UConns the other day, and using it as a reason why he liked Illinois. Shouldn't who you've played so far be in consideration when evaluating that.
O.K. this is funny. Norlander and Parrish both picked Illinois straight up in that article. Yesterday they did a show (below) where they both picked UConn. Norlander at 4:45 of the video posted below picks UConn to win 76-73 and Parrish at 9:45 picks UConn. Wtf? Are they just trying to hedge their bets so they can say they were right? So ridiculous they do that. All 6 CBS Sports college basketball writers pick Illinois. Good.

Illinois fans showing up
Those are the numbers that allow them to prove their theory,........That's an odd cutoff though. Why 12? Why not top 15 or top 25?
He played very well against them in November. This is a much better matchup for him than a lot of others because he’s not going against overly athletic or powerful 5s. They’re just big.We do need something out of Reibe just a couple of rebounds and pts that's it, make your fts that of course goes for everybody.
You think this has any effect on our team or game outcome? If things don’t go well I don’t want to hear that as an excuse, but I’m sure we will.
After last night we lost a few threads.......Just to give a status update... expecting winds in the 10-20mph today and Sunday, with occasional rain. New flag is in the mail, but this is a critical 60 hours for the few threads holding this thing together.

Wow. I am so intimidated right now.
Duke was killing us because Karaban couldn’t stop Boozer lolMatchups are important, but they can be overstated. It can lead you to believe Duke will kill us because Karaban can’t stop Boozer, or that Flory Bidunga will “eat up” Eric Reibe. Even if matchups look bad individually, they don’t tell the whole story. Teams adjust.
DOOMED!!!I don’t get that. They were a different team? Why? Did they have any injuries? Did they have two players coming back from injury like we did? They talk about their freshman kid being a different player. He started in every one of the games prior to our game. Whereas we had Mullins playing what, 12 minutes? And who can say that Bear is playing at the same level now than he did in November? They missed some open 3’s, but so did we. I will die on this hill. UConn by 15.

They did the halftime speech in the Illinois locker room in the Elite 8 in 2024.
A figurative home game would be one step below a literal home game, yes.As opposed to a figurative home game?
Purdue, Indiana University, University of Louisville, and University of Cincinnati are all literally closer to Lucas Oil Stadium than University of Illinois. Chicagoland is even further from Indy than Champaign-Urbana. It's a convenient enough regional day trip, but hardly what you've claimed. But I can tell you that this going to be as close to a literal home game for Illinois as you can get.
