UConn vs Illinois (Final Four)

.-.
You think this has any effect on our team or game outcome? If things don’t go well I don’t want to hear that as an excuse, but I’m sure we will.
It helps with the narrative that UConn doesn't lose neutral site games from the Sweet 16 on.

One loss in the Final Four is Michigan State in Detroit. So Illinois two hours away works.

He picked Illinois after saying "his heart is with UConn because they've covered them all year and watched them grow", the (bleep) outta here
I'm shocked he could get those words out of his mouth. All I've seen is him always killing them all year. Let's hope he's wrong again.

Play defense, hit open shots and stay out of foul trouble and we beat anyone.

Against Duke we only played defense for about 15 minutes, and hit open shots for about 5 and we won. Did stay out of foul trouble. Also didn't turn the ball over.

In short, we play a clean game we win.
Opponent can only affect the margin for error.

Does anyone know if you cast sling to your TV? I don't have TBS and I'm thinking about getting a 1-3 day pass to sling

Pressure is on UConn to keep alive an 88 year streak. No one in the entire city of Indianapolis today was alive the last time Illinois beat UConn.

If they were alive, they would have rocked out to "A-Tisket, A-Tasket" by Ella Fitzgerald, which topped the charts for 10 weeks.

They would have heard about Italy winning the FIFA tournament in France while Germany was annexing Austria.

They would have seen “The Life of Emile Zola” win the Best Picture award at the 10th Academy Awards with 10 nominations.

True Facts:
  • The Huskies are 3-1 all-time in the series.
  • Illinois' only win against UConn came in the first meeting between the programs in 1938.

Purdue, Indiana University, University of Louisville, and University of Cincinnati are all literally closer to Lucas Oil Stadium than University of Illinois. Chicagoland is even further from Indy than Champaign-Urbana. It's a convenient enough regional day trip, but hardly what you've claimed.
None of those schools you mentioned are in the final four. Also, the number of potential buyers for a national semi-final dwarf what you would have for a normal conference home game. Whether the school itself is 120 miles away or 5 miles away really makes no difference when you're dealing with a state flagship with nearly 40,000 undergrads. It'd be like saying this isn't a home game for the 49ers because they play in Santa Clara.

(The distance from Champaign to Indy is nearly identical to the distance from East Lansing to Detroit, and I don't remember anyone saying '09 wasn't a de facto home game for MSU).

I don’t think our coaches or players care at this point. If it was 99% to 1% it’s just execute the game plan. Our team is experienced going into the lions den.

I mean I tuned in a little late to the pregame shows but are the Illini and Huskies actually playing for anything? I mean it seems to be all about Arizona Michigan like the other game doesn’t count. Fab 5 ( do they have as many titles as UConn? )….. Golden comes on they ask him about the 2nd game, didn’t ask him about UConn beating him this year or losing only by 2 to the Gators last year in round 2.

Crappy job by the NBA team quite honestly.

YES, Chuck just picked Illinois to beat us really good!

Do these guys do their homework at all? Hurley played Florida, this Illinois front line (healthy), Duke, MSU - all as good or better front lines than this.

Jaylen Stewart jumping around and looking nimble before they run out. Expect minutes.

I hope Mullins and Ball are both on fire and we’re up 20 at half. See what these bozos have to say about that. Then win by 30.

Let’s play like we did in the First half against MSU and the second half against Duke

From your initial post that I quoted, delete the word "literal" and (less importantly though true) substitute your final use of the pronoun "you" to the pronoun "they," and I'd not have written any comment in reply.

I don't dispute what you've written above. It shows clearer thinking and presents with greater accuracy. Thx.

Upon further consideration, I can see flaws in what I wrote as well. Nonetheless, the word "literally" is misapplied.
