Top 7th, Polonia manages to strand runners at the corners after a walk and an infield error by Hague to keep the game tied at 2.

Bottom 7th, Hague with a 2 out single, but that is it for the UConn offense. Game tied at 2.

Polonia on the mound to start the top of the 8th, Marrero warming in the pen.
 
Polonia gets the first two outs of the 8th inning, then Marrero comes in to pitch to face the home run hitting Vargas. Bushling with a good play to end the inning.

Bottom 8th, scoreless inning for the UConn bats. It would be helpful to get someone on base before there were two outs recorded.
 
The URI pitcher has 87 pitches through 8 innings. Less than 11 pitches an inning. Too many first ball swings and we haven't been working the counts.

Top 9th, Marrero faces the minimum 3 batters. Tied at 2 going to the bottom of the 9th.
 
Bottom 9th, Stock with a leadoff single, but nothing else happening with the bottom of the order. On to extra innings.
 
Top 10th, Wurster takes the mound. 1-2-3 inning.

Justin Willis warming in the pen for UConn. Bottom 11th, Stock gets a two out single, Brown follows with a single to put runners at the corners. Chris Winkel strikes out. On to the 12th, Willis takes the mound for UConn.
 
Thankfully we won’t have to worry about the sun going down if the second game goes long too and this one continues!
 
Bottom 11th, Willis faces the minimum after Pat Winkel throws out a base stealer to end the inning. Like I said before, it would be nice to for UConn to get some runners on before two outs in an inning.
 
Bottom 12, UConn goes down quickly in order. Not even a two out base runner this time.
