Bottom 7th, UConn gets 2 runners in scoring position with 1 out, Garbowski walks to load the bases with 2 out. Daniels walks to bring in a run, 7-5 UConn going to the next inning. Daniels has 5 RBI's today. Pitching change.

Top 8th, a walk and a single puts runners on the corners with no out. Kirby strikes out the next 2 batters, but a 2 out single brings in a run, 7-6 UConn. A double drives in 2 more runs, 8-7 Rutgers going to the bottom of the inning.

Kirby has thrown 52 pitches so far, if he goes much longer, wonder if he would be available on Sunday.

My goodness, I know Kirby had a rough one today, but this one is on the offense. Can't have this many missed opportunities.
 
Top 9th, Kirby gives up 2 singles with 1 out. Kirby gets 2 strikeouts to strand 2 runners on base. 8-7 Rutgers.

Chris Jones thinking that Kirby is now probably done for the next 2 games of this series.
 
Bottom 9th, with no out Morton gets hit by a pitch, moves to 2B on a sac bunt. Pitching change.
 
What does everyone think about the sac bunt there? Struggling to get the big hit, hate giving up the out.

Bottom 9th, with 1 out, Daniels walks again to put 2 runners on base, and Smith with an infield single to load the bases. Freeberger with an rbi ground out to tie the game at 8, now with 2 outs. Game going to extra innings.

Can't imagine Kirby staying in the game, but we'll see.
 
Top 10th, Kirby back on the mound. With 2 runners on base and 1 out, a pitching change. Fogell coming in to pitch.
 
Chris Jones hasn't said anything about it today, but during the game against UMass on Wednesday, he said that Justin Willis was not feeling well that day. Not sure if he is available today.
 
Bottom 10th, UConn offense goes down 1-2-3, a great outfield play robs Broadhurst of at least a double. Game tied at 8.

Chris Jones just said that Justin Willis is warming up in the bullpen.
 
We were able to save Willis. Afthim should go for an inning. Otherwise, praying for a long Sears start like last weekend.
 
Nice to get the first game, even if it’s a long one. Let’s get another one.
