UMass actually doesn't have too bad an RPI (137). If we win, I suspect our RPI will remain approximately the same.

If the goal is to start moving back towards the possibility of hosting a regional, we need a 3-1 week. And that is exponentially easier with a win today.

Agreed. 2-2 is acceptable in terms of trying to make a regional, but a big week this week can push our RPI into the teens.

1-0 UConn in an inning where their pitcher threw 40 pitches. Dunlop to the hill.

The dead duck play sadly did not work.
 
6-0 goimg to the bottom of the second. We have had a ton of great, lengthy at bats; not a lot of first pitch swinging. Fedko had the big blow, a 3 run double.

The only real bad RPI game left on the UConn schedule is Central, which was around 250 the last I looked.

Chris Jones was speculating that Dunlop may not make that trip because of this start. That would make sense if Dunlop ends up starting the Monday game against Central.

That is good for us. The fewer atrocious RPI games on the schedule, the stronger the odds we play our way into hosting contention.

I'd guess he pulled him that quickly to preserve the chance that he can come in once over the weekend. Let Haus start Monday and there's still another weekday game for Coby.
 
Pretty happy with the way Joey is attacking the UMass kiddoes. 8-1 neutral guys going to the 6th.
