UConn Transfers Out Performances With New Teams

Cam Ross showed out right off the bat at UConn. Joly also rose week by week to be a standout as a young player. Don't know if them leaving was all money related but when Skyler Bell returned he told us the story. Joe Fagnano returned and he stayed at UConn. All receivers need to believe that the QB has the ability to get them the ball. When Ross and Joly left I think they were not confident they would be playing with a QB who could reliably be a passing threat. And an OC who had his stuff together. JMHO

Yep, you could bet the house this is a point their new coaches made. Then pounded it home with a bigger NIL mallet. 😉

The color guy on the broadcast said Joly was the receiver Wake Forest had to stop as he was the #1 threat on NC State. Watched the first half and did not hear them mention he started his career at UConn.

It is what it is, but watching Hardy make a key stop and then seeing Joly catch a touchdown two plays later makes me feel proud that UConn develops talent. However, it is bittersweet.
When we develop players and they go to other schools I only wish

i think joly was a 0 or 1 star player until UConn developed him.

Ironically, Hardy was listed as guy to stop too

Beware the Broyles Award. Very easy to coach 5 stars. Not so easy to find and develop 2-3 stars.
Just looked up his history and found that all games during his two years as DC at ND were vacated in 2018 after an NCAA investigation into eligibility issues about a few players. So, all games in 2012 and 2013 were wiped from ND's record. Thus, the NCAA took away their status as the school with the highest all-time winning percentage. Now that's making history!

And, according to the following article, the NCAA didn't cut them any slack like they did with uNC over the 20 years of academic fraud:

All these guys who were afforded playing time at UConn are dead to me. Bench guys I get and wish the best. The rest can go screw.
This is where I am. Kids who leave to get on the field – God bless and good luck. Kids who leave for money, or more money — it’s your right and I’m not bashing you for it, but I honestly could then care less where your career goes.
