UConn Transfers Out Performances With New Teams

.-.
Yates was listed as the starter on more than one "projected" depth charts I saw. Of course, it was reported that Belichick released a "blank" depth chart before the game because, you know, he is Belichick and he needs to draw attention to himself...

So if Yates was healthy and available, it is surprising he didn't get a snap. Perhaps he is hurt or had some other reason for not playing.

Even in a blowout loss, he didn't get a snap. Is it weird to say I hope he is injured rather than he won't see the field due to his skills and scheme mismatch.
As long as it’s a minor injury and will be able to play in a week or two, I wouldn’t call it weird.

Not exactly the portal- but same idea. Helluva debut for that UNC DL last night.

Same old story...

The Purdue football defense in 2020 played under new Defensive Coordinator Bob Diaco, who was hired after the previous season's defensive struggles. The defense had significant challenges, particularly against power run games in the Big Ten, and relied heavily on defensive line play from players like George Karlaftis and the leadership of veteran Lorenzo Neal. The overall season saw the defense ranked poorly, with hopes for future improvement placed on younger players and the ability to adapt to Diaco's scheme.

The more things change…

Rumor on the UNC boards is that he was injured.
Word on the street (via his insta I believe) torn meniscus getting in extra work late last week.

The over all situation pretty much sucks.... As a long time college football fan, just saying. Season tickets since UConn went D1.
I wish these young men well but on the same hand my life long interest in the game is waning.
I get it $$$ but not my cup of tea.
Sad but I miss the players developing on the team, rather than where they transferred to. Yes we have players, transfers coming in but chemistry is lost to a degree. This between the coaching staff and teammates.

You have to give BD credit for consistency. The defense played as well Monday night as they did when he was the DC in the ill-fated National Championship game....
He should have worn the red pants.

Definitely understandable but alternately neither of those guys were on last year’s team that gave us a great season or this year’s where we haven’t been this much excited about our program in a while. Sucks to lose them but we ended up better off anyways

Besides, this year, some of our most prominent players stayed

Cam Ross showed out right off the bat at UConn. Joly also rose week by week to be a standout as a young player. Don't know if them leaving was all money related but when Skyler Bell returned he told us the story. Joe Fagnano returned and he stayed at UConn. All receivers need to believe that the QB has the ability to get them the ball. When Ross and Joly left I think they were not confident they would be playing with a QB who could reliably be a passing threat. And an OC who had his stuff together. JMHO
