If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Outside of langer return this lineup and batting order feels like it’s all but set.

Ferrer is still auditioning for an everyday role as well, but 1 through 7 in the lineup is looking fairly well fixed.

This is a bad team we are playing. We need to finish the sweep

With Coach Penders it has always been that with an unproven or bench player, if you want to play, you need to produce if and when you get your chance. I would still label Erik Stock as an unproven player, but he got the chance to play, and boy, he is most certainly producing. Penders has always had the tendency to stay with a hot hand, and Stock is most certainly that. If he keeps this up, he will keep playing and more or less gain regular status. If he slumps, someone else might well get a chance. Kevin Ferrer is also getting his chance to show if he can produce. Ben Maycock and Andy Hague did not produce when they got their chance during the first few weeks of the season, so now they get to wait for another chance.

I recall Willy Yahn, who barely played for the first month while he was with the team as a freshman. He got a start at 3B during the spring break trip that year, came up with a hot bat, and never came out of the lineup. He most certainly took advantage of his chance when it came up.

Top 1st, Bushling with a lead off walk, but gets picked off. It seems to me that the base running misadventures have not come up all that often so far this season for Uconn, so that is good. No score going to the bottom of the 1st.

As for Bushling, he is turning into a very nice leadoff hitter, being able to consistently get on base, something he has been improving on as we get farther into the season. Time will tell, but he's looking like a worthy JUCO successor to Woodworth.

Top 2nd, UConn hitters go down in order. However, the PC pitcher is already at 40 pitches.

I hope this fan base enjoys watching Erik play as much as I have through the years.

I’ll tell you this much I enjoyed his interview more then any I’ve ever heard haha. Kid obviously has a great personality in addition to being able to play.

Top 3rd, two out single for Bushling, so he gets on base for the second time already today. No score going to the bottom of the 3rd. PC pitcher at 55 pitches, which could really matter with their weak bullpen.

Top 3rd, Dunlop with some control issues gives up 2 walks. One out single brings in two runs after UConn throws the ball around. Another infield fielding mishap makes it 3-0. Three errors on UConn so far this inning.

Pickoff ends the 3rd inning. 3-0 PC. One earned run off of Dunlop in that inning.

Bottom 4th, Huskies seem to be catching the PC fielding yips, commit their fourth error of the game, and Bushling with his second error of the game. Dunlop with a scoreless inning to keep it at 3-0 PC.

Top 5th, another scoreless inning for the Husky bats. One hit so far for UConn.

Bottom 6th, Ken Haus relieves Dunlop to start the inning. Dunlop did well today, only problem is the inning where he gave up the two walks is the same inning where the Husky defense had a relapse.

Top 7th, pitching change for PC to start the inning as their starter comes out. Doesn't change what has been going on, as Huskies go down in order.

Chris Jones commented that UConn has hit the ball hard, but either at a PC player or foul. Also said that this would be a terrible loss, as he doesn't expect PC to win 10 games or so this season.

Chris Jones compared the Presbyterian baseball field yesterday to J.O. Christian at UConn. Of course, J.O. Christian at least had a press box, which was probably the one amenity that the place had. From the way Jones was describing the broadcast location, it definitely sounded like he was in the stands off to the side.

I've listened to WHUS sports broadcasts for many years. When it comes to their broadcasts of sports like soccer and baseball, the lack of a press box does happen from time to time. John Tuite used to describe certain radio setups in the stands or on the sidelines as the sports version of guerrilla radio. I recall one time when John Tuite was doing a men's soccer game at Temple from a cardboard table on the sidelines when the whole broadcast setup was upset when some players ran into the setup, and briefly sent the broadcast for a loop. Having the tent at yesterday's game almost sounds like a luxury.
It had rained buckets Thursday night so unplayable on Friday. Very rough to say the least. They have no lights either.

It was one of those tents that you use for a party. It was not warm either so Chris was bundled up pretty well. Didn't see his face and he never moved out of the chair.

Nice campus though. Soccer and football fields much better than baseball.

Great to see a game down here. Last year I went to 4 in Greenville when we swept MI State. Also hauled down to Charleston as well.

Just had a weird feeling we’d need some those runs from game 1 yesterday... to the 8th we go chasing 3

Top 8th, Winkel with a leadoff triple. Ferrer follows with a double to make it 3-1 with no out. Brodnansky pinch hits for Petersen. Huskies then go down 1-2-3.

Bottom 8th, Wurster faces the minimum after Gozzo throws out a base stealer on a pitch out. 3-1 PC.

Top 9th, Crawford with a single, Kyler Fedko doubles him in to make it 3-2 with one out. Gozzo follows with a walk. Time for a pitching change with Winkel up. Wild pitch moves the runners up.
