The UConn baseball team (4-5) look to rebound from a series loss at New Orleans last weekend with a trip to Presbyterian for a three-game set.

With rain throughout the South Carolina area the past few days, Friday's series opener has been pushed to Saturday. The two teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Presbyterian College Game Notes for UConn

Presby is not a good baseball team by any computer measure. You can't ever assume you're going to sweep a 3 game series on the road, but this is like playing three New England midweek games on the weekend. Time to sweep 3 and get out of the red here.

It would seem Cole Brodnansky has become Krauth's personal catcher. We'll see if that continues if Krauth takes over as the Friday starter. Both JUCO's from California. Good to see the freshman Petersen getting another start, at least in my mind. Still have to wonder when David Langer might be available to play.

Top 1st, nothing doing for the UConn offense. No score.

Bottom 1st, scoreless inning for Krauth after allowing a two out walk.

Checking the Presbyterian stats, the starting pitcher Miles looks to be by far their best pitcher. The rest the staff looks to be rather shaky, especially the bullpen. We'll see how it goes.

I don't think the Presbyterian home field has lights. Sunset is around 6:30 down in South Carolina. The way Husky games have ran long this season, it will be interesting to see if they can get both games completely finished today.

Top 3rd, with 2 out Kyler Fedko hits one off an outfielder's glove to bring in two runs. 2-0 Huskies. Kyler at 3B, he does not score.

Bushling led off the inning with a single, he now has a 9 game hit streak.

UConn gets very lucky - we get two runs on PC's third error of the game.

Still, good things tend to happen in college baseball when you make contact.

Bottom 3rd, Krauth with a 1-2-3 inning. He now has 5 strikeouts total for the game. He sounds good again today. Krauth at 44 pitches.

Top 4th, UConn batters go down quickly in order. 2-0 Huskies. Miles at 47 pitches.

Bottom 4th, Petersen with a solid fielding play at 3B to get the first out. Crawford with a good dig at 1B on that play as well. Good to see from the freshmen in the field on defense.

Bottom 4th, Brodnansky throws out a base stealer to get the final out of the inning. 2-0 Huskies. Krauth faces the minimum three hitters after giving up his second walk of the game.

Great at bat by Bushling to work a walk, and Stock singles him to third. Top of the lineup putting in work.

.-.
Christian Fedko with a sac fly scores Bushling. 3-0 UConn with 1 out with a runner at 1B.

Stock with another multi hit game.

Chris Jones says David Langer might return next week, he's getting at bats in Storrs now. Will Lucas is sick, and did not make this trip.

Bottom 5th, with 2 outs, Krauth gives up the first hit of the day off him. Another scoreless inning for him. 3-0 Huskies. Krauth at 71 pitches. Suspect we know who will be starting next Friday for UConn.

Top 6th, Gozzo with a 1 out triple, Winkel follows with a sac fly to make it 4-0 UConn.
