UConn, Zach Brown part ways
...according to sources.
Honestly, is anyone surprised about that?
Honestly, probably best for us in the long run. He seemed like troubled. Nick Richards, here we come.
Not shocking. Hope the best for the kid. He's been through a lot already at such a young age.
Hopefully this means that KO is on track to get someone who is more stable
OH WELL, back to the drawing board. Need some muscle down there.
I completely understand why this has happened, but it's a bummer that we get one of the top-ranked bigs, though his stock seems to be falling of late, then to have it blow up. Hopefully KO will land a solid big man in 2017.
F.. Kt f.. K sht why can't we have a big man with size? Is Enoch going to be the only one with size in 2017? Durham Diarra and Enoch are a good tandem on paper. But I'd like one more strong big incase Enoch gets in foul trouble.
I appreciate them reporting this as a mutual parting of ways instead of a decommitment, as it pretty much confirms that KO and UConn aren't really interested in him anymore.
Size doesn't matter too much when the player is as raw as Brown is. He just looks awkward sometimes. Nick Richards is lean but can add muscle and is an amazing defender, it sucks but its not the worst thing in the world.
Hope he does well, but I'm glad that a decision was made sooner rather than later if it was going to be made.
No surprise here!
I'm going to be very interested to see where Brown ends up playing when it is all said and done.
Seemed like there was one too many red flags for the staff to continue with him.
I'm wondering if he stays down in Florida. Seems like it may be a distance issue.
I'm betting SEC bound....
Could definitely see him at Miami.
This had about a five percent chance of working out. Once he was booted from Putnam, that dropped to somewhere near zero.
Not surprised by this but really wishing the best for the kid. The Vice video gave me some questionable vibes from his guardian but Zach seemed like a really good kid who's just trying to do the right thing.
I was optimistic about his future with us but I'm not shocked by the result.
I think them attending games for every other big man in the class of 2017 during the last contact period was as good an indication as any that they had already moved on.
I think most of us saw this coming.
Brown, the 7-foot center out of Miami, has de-committed from UConn. He and Kevin Ollie spoke on a conference call on Thursday afternoon and agreed it was what was best for both parties. There are no hard feelings, according to a source, it just wound up not being a good fit.

What are the chances he had some very bad chemistry with some of the PSA player's we have/are recruiting?
OK, is this good or bad or indifferent?
Good, better now then later and we have no other options. We're in the mix with dome other bigs.
This clown was an embarrassment to even consider a recruit. Ollie has really lowered the bar with this one. Everything in this kid's history screamed, "stay away". I expect to see him at Kentucky, Louisville, or one of those Florida basketball factories.
Knew this was coming, it's definitely for the best. I hope the kid can figure things out and realize his talent, he's had a tough life.
How did Zach Brown hurt you? And how did Ollie "lower the bar" with a player that was never signed, enrolled or suited up for UConn?
Not a good look from you.
