UConn MHOC 22-23

You have to factor in some of those you opted out as well, I know some season tix holders who travel from more southern central CT area who don't want to make the trek to Storrs. Therefore opted out of the games in Storrs.
I live close enough to make Storrs doable. I‘d like to see the athletic department put out some info on this, so that we’re not just guessing. They have to do better at sharing stuff like this. I‘d probably buy 2 seats for the second half of the year if something like that was offered. I really want to be at these games.

Figure students get what 400 or 500 seats? Although I wonder if they’ve put how feelers and are distributing less based on tepid student response. But let’s say 500.
So that leaves 2000 or so. Do we really have 2000 season tix holders? Is that data out there somewhere?
I’ve got season tix and I’ve been told I’m safe but there’s still a lot of unknown that will be known in the next month.

The inaugural season 2014-2015 set the high bar for season tix. Average attendance was about 5400 then and from memory I recall that Season ticket holders number to be around 2200. It's probably closer to 1200-1400 now, so there should be room for both subscribers and students. I would think if there are massive giveaways or youth hockey team packages, they would concentrate those sales towards the XL. My hope for next year is that fewer XL dates mean more fans attending them too. We'll see if that logic pans out...

Huston Karpman played his first game on Friday night anybody have any insight on him? He had 215 pims last year in the NAHL, is this guy the next Capone/ Bradley in 2 years making a second home in the penalty box?

I liked the energy Karpman brought and would love to see him get another game as an extra forward.
Had no idea about his penalty minutes from his past but he definitely has no problem throwing his body around as soon as he got on the ice.

-> “I’m certainly happy with the way the season went in one aspect,” Cavanaugh said. “We’re 11-5-3, but in another aspect, four games ago we were 10-2-3, and I feel like the break is coming at a good time for us. We haven’t been as sharp and dialed in as we need to be.” <-

-> “[Longtime Boston College coach] Jerry York used to always say to me, ‘you play the first half of the season to put yourself in contention to win trophies,’” Cavanaugh said. “Then come Jan. 1, the second half of the season, that’s when the ‘men’s league’ starts, the games become a lot more intense and there’s a lot more riding on it. We’ve played well enough to put ourselves in contention to win every trophy available to us.” <-

-> The Hockey East regular season title, the conference tournament and the national championship are the goals in sight. The Huskies are No. 7 in the PairWise ratings, a key metric in tournament selection like the basketball Net Rankings. They are tied with Merrimack (27 points) atop the conference standings, and due to Hockey East’s strong out-of-conference performance, there are six teams in contention for NCAA bids. UConn’s 4-1 out-of-conference record, with wins over Ohio State and Union figures to have value in March. <-

If we can maximize our depth in the second half and keep guys sharp those freshmen can stay strong for Hockey East and beyond. Next up!

We have to take care of business for the remainder of the season against teams below us in Pairwise. None of our scheduled games (Northeastern, Yale, UMass, UNH, Alaska-Anchorage and BC) is against a team above us. Only a potential CT Ice final against Quinnipiac is an opportunity to defeat a higher-ranked team.

Roman and some of the boys getting in on the NIL game. 2 commercials, usually played back to back.

I am going to be so disappointed if this team can't close things out down the stretch and finally get into the tournament. Hasn't been good since the blowout loss to Cornell. Have to beat NU at home and at least split with UMass.
