UConn MHOC 22-23

Just purchased my ticket to Friday's game. Hope to see many of you at Schneider.

I can see why PSU is at #2 in Bucci’s mind. They did beat #1 2 weeks in a row.

Penn State's had two pretty good weekends, 2-2 against top teams is good. But their 10-2 record is inflated, the first 8 games were 2x vs Canisius, Mercyhurst, St. Thomas, and Wisconsin who are all terrible teams.

FWIW, now having seen UConn and UMass play my team, UConn is decidedly better than UMass to my eyes.

The next five league games are crucial (Lowell-2, Merrimack-2, BU-1).

Every team, (save Northeastern) in contention below us in HE standings, has a minimum of two (some three, even four) games-in-hand. We must make hay now, putting distance behind us while we sit on the sidelines after New Year’s Day watching the scoreboard.

The important games are #46 Cornell, #55 Long Island (2), #54 Alaska, #61 Yale or #23 Sacred Heart (a game against either one or both), #36 Boston College (2) and #48 New Hampshire (2).

It’s imperative to stay in the top 12 of the Pairwise.

Every single game is crucial. It doesn’t matter who we’re up against in HE, 3 points is 3 points.
The only downside to this past weekend was the absence of our pep band. I think it is unforgivable. Two top ten teams, 4000 fans and no band? Even our JV band from Woodstock Academy would have been welcome. They were absolutely great when they subbed in earlier this season. This should never happen.

Diddo, band makes a big difference

UConn band was at football.

How are we feeling about this weekend series? Would really like to see Uconn come out and take it to UML. Last 5 games or so Uconn has gone down 1-0 in each game and has to claw its way back. Obviously, it hasn't mattered in terms of results but it's a tough way to keep playing.

Agree. Hate going down a goal early. It doesn’t seem to bother our guys, they just keep on grinding. BUT I fear it will come back to haunt us. UML is always a very tough opponent. They’re well coached, tough and they never quit. Mirror image?

Stay out of the box early. Being even, or better, at the end of one period energizes the (mostly student-less, and sometimes pep band-less) crowd.

JeannoCT:

Meet me at the "endzone" bar 20-30 minutes before faceoff Saturday. I'm bring a friend who also served in Vietnam.
