UConn is going Bowling > Wasabi Fenway Bowl v. Army (Saturday 12/27/25 @2:15 on ESPN)

Fenway Bowl is undisclosed payout. I am sure it has to be at least $500K. Right? Maybe more? No idea tbh.

Because that means that our program has not improved standing despite all of the evidence to the contrary. Going to the same bowl two years in a row means this program is stuck.
@NHUConnfan Quantitatively and qualitatively, UConn’s current 9-3 record with 2 wins against P4 opponents is already better than last season’s 9-4 final record.

In addition to the UConn program’s first-ever consecutive 9 win seasons, potentially defeating Army would result in the Huskies’ first 10 win FBS season.

For the non-CFP Bowls, it's about the teams wanting to be there. Hope the AD and team sees good ticket sales.

-> 34. Fenway Bowl:

Saturday, Dec. 27 | 2:15 p.m. --After Jim Mora left the program for Colorado State, UConn moved quickly to seize Toledo's Jason Candle. He's not going to coach in this one, but being proactive was a positive for the Huskies and showed this program was left in better shape than when Mora inherited it. UConn has a win over ACC champion Duke, took out a seven-win FIU squad by 41 points on Oct. 4 and didn't lose a game this season in regulation. That's right -- all three setbacks for the Huskies came in overtime. Could Army control the clock and get this one to an extra session inside Fenway? <-

That would make it (virtually) the lowest Bowl pay out. Since it draws better than many bowls, since the staffing and maintenance are all routine, since the bowl is no frills, the whole operation is pretty much turn key. My guess is that it is better than 500k. I could see anything from 900k to 1.5m.

Not exactly turn-key when you have to install a football field in a baseball stadium but other than that, I get what you are saying. I wonder how much it all costs to do that anyway...lines, paint, benches, goal postss, nets

This will not be an easy game for UConn. We will have to score a ton to beat Army. Our D will have issues stopping that triple option. It should be interesting.

That is pretty good. I recall getting $100/mo. the 2 years in ROTC in the ‘80s. lol.
As someone mentioned elsewhere in thos thread, uniforms, IT equipment and other costs are taken out of this allotment so the seniors are pocketing way more then the freshmen. which makes sense in my opinion.

In the mid-1980s as a plebe I "took home" $75 a month. We were in debt for uniforms, books, etc until some time sophomore ("yearling") year.

The class after ours was the first to be issued (be forced to buy) computers, so they were in debt for longer than we were.

I don't recall how much our "take home" increased as we progressed, only that there always seemed to be more things we were issued (forced to buy). Of course books were an expense every semester - and we weren't allowed to buy used books in those days.

Reasonable take. Quality of the game all depends on what type of team UConn fields. Army is a known quantity.

UC114th v run , Army 3rd rushing offense. Air Force is fifth and had 290 yds on ground at Rent; however, 66 of those turned out to be empty thanks to goal line stand after the 11:50 90 yd drive (1 play was 24 yd pass). 2 TFLs were helpful; prolly will need a few more

So part of my regular crew is away for the holidays, but taking the grandkids & some holiday additions got my census for the game to 17. Got $ 46.00 after hitting the UConn friends & family button. "Rent Section 103" will represent!

Will there be a UConn student section?
Grandstand sections 15, 16 and 19 are all Uconn Sections. I am sure there are other sections for Uconn fans as well but that what was shown when I went through the Uconn link.

I bought through the school and I’m in Grandstand 12 so that whole area should be UConn they sell the tickets in batches and not all at once

Holy Cross played Georgetown at Fenway a few weeks back. There were also a number of high school football games played at Fenway during Thanksgiving week. The field has been set up for a while.

Already got my ticket. Any word about fan buses to Fenway through Dattco? That worked well last year. Bus stopped at Southington & Tolland Park & Rides.

Still a good opportunity for kids to "try out" in front of the new regime. Playing a football game is not going to hurt the program. Maybe Evers(or Farrar or McDonald) looking for an opportunity to impress. Will be interesting to see who of the current portal guys play and who opts out. Did I see Cam is going to play?

This sucks.

Totally different team in the bowl game. Hard to get on players about playing when you can't even get coaches to stay. Probably should have turned the bowl down (only half joking).

With Sammis and Brock leaving, does anyone know if they will still be coaching in the bowl game?
