UConn in the Pros December 2025

Fox for Franz Wagner is a very easy move for the Spurs to make. Gianna’s is also there.

Just so easy for them to upgrade and get more talented in places that needed.
Giannis is not there for the Spurs. The Spurs have made it crystal clear they won't trade Castle and Harper for anyone and Fox ain't gonna get them Giannis.

Fox, Keldon Johnson, Sochan, Barnes, and picks would be better than what most teams would offer the Bucks.

Spurs have plenty of assets outside of Castle and Harper.

those are easy trades to make in trade simulator/machine, but this is real life. there is literally no one talking about the Magic moving off of Wagner.

The Magic will eventually have to choose between him and Paolo. They aren’t a good fit next to each other and they need a PG.

Fox can’t be traded till a few days before the deadline so he probably won’t be traded this year unless the Spurs make something happen in that tight window.

For those of you who like to wager, Cam has been an ATM this season.
I dabbled a few nights ago when he didn’t miss a shot. Bummer that he’s out for tonight’s game.

I think them looking like investment bankers definitely have something to do with the interest. Cause, America.

If people want to watch a movie about two brothers who are bench players and end of the draft picks over twins who are lottery picks and one a blossoming star then that’s a sign of a different issue.

The Thompson twins are also great and funny personalities. I’ll chalk this up to this being a UConn board for these takes though.

Let's see - twins who are really good at basketball, who got drafted in the lottery and are playing well in the NBA

OR

Two uber-competitive brothers who would shove Grandma out of the way to win a race against each other, who were both star lacrosse players, one of whom was the NPOY and then played 1 year at Northwestern, signed to a G-League team and is now a major part of one of the premier franchises in the NBA, and the other played at 3 colleges before getting drafted in the 2nd round and is now shooting 51% from 3.

Yeah. #1 definitely. I love the part of the story where they just keep being good at basketball.

Milwaukee is not doing that

It’s a UConn message board so I’m not expecting reasonable responses to this topic.

But I wish you responded on your thoughts after your Newton Castle question.

Same reason there would never be interest in a movie about Dominique and Gerald Wilkins, the Morris twins, the Plumlee brothers. There's nothing compelling there. There's nothing compelling about the Thompson twins story. They were considered top 10 high school players and they made it, the story about brothers who were always supposed to go to the NBA and did.

Steph and Seth Curry there's something there because they didn't get scholarship offers to major colleges coming out of high school despite having an NBA father and one of them became one of the best players ever but it also makes it far less compelling because they're sons of a really good NBA player.

This shouldn't have to be explained to Huskywarrior but here we are.

Exactly. Caron Butler or Kemba Walker would make for better movies than the Thompsons. For right now - or two years from now - the sorcery of the Spncer brothers and ability to manifest what could be considered delusions or grandeur - through pure will - is a compelling story!

My son is a huge Knicks fan so we were going back and forth between the games, and my god Stan Van Gundy is just obsessed with Castle. Loves the guy

You still think Castle would have gone elsewhere if Newton didn't declare, or announced his decision to come back earlier.

Which makes you a non-serious person . . .

I thought my rhetorical question spoke for itself. I saw other people responded and I didn't have anything to add.

All fairness to Cam, but Pat is the draw major draw in this. Going four years without playing competitive basketball and then making it to the NBA is just a wild story. I don’t know if it’s enough to draw at the movies but what a story.

You are correct - and really it’s two movies with Cam getting the sequel. Trying to intertwine two parallel plots would get clunky and feel forced. It could be a good couple of movie, but almost any director would have the scenes of self doubt that I don’t think ever actually creeps into the Spencer brothers.

No way Spurs trade Castle. I see Giannis going to a big market like Golden State or NY. That's what the league wants.

The Golden State/Steph Curry stimulus package is something else because that dude thinking Pat is the better player between the two brothers is wild

Jacoby is just saying that based on their “status” - he just means like Pat has started for a much better team and is older, etc. I wouldn’t take it to mean much he was just shocked how well Cam is shooting when he’s not even a starter on a good team, for instance.
