UConn in the Pros December 2025

Maybe the worst take I’ve ever seen on this board.

You don’t have to gain an arbitrary status to talk trash, that’s not how the sports world works.

I’d assume, and he’s correct in doing so, Cam has talked trash since he started playing competitively.

If you hit 7 threes in a row, the last one from 29 feet, you are authorized under federal law to talk trash.

Couldn't agree more.

PS - Cam was talking smack to KD as an undrafted rookie in his first taste of the league - the man was born to talk smack.

I love a guy like that - it's what made us all love him.

I can't even fathom being a basketball fan in the year of our lord 2025 and thinking you need to become a "higher level player" in some fake status in order to talk smack.

I get he played for Rutgers, but if he doesn't come to Uconn, does he ever get a shot?? I know he's been back in Storrs, has he been back to any RU practices?
His brother played at Northwestern and made it. Not sure why Cam wouldn’t have gotten the same shot at Rutgers.

NBA scouts can find players in Latvia, I don’t think they’re missing anyone playing D1 because of where they went to school.

Pat Spencer was cut from varsity lacrosse and basketball his sophomore season at Boys Latin and played JV because he was 5'4 120 lbs and they wanted him to have the ball in his hands at the JV level to develop as his body developed. Hollywood needs to make a movie about the brothers.
Out of all the brothers in the NBA I don’t think they’ll choose the two bench players to make a movie on, respectfully.

It will be interesting to see how the Grizzlies move with Cam when their roster is healthy. He HAS to play at this point even with Scottie and Ty Jerome comes back (which won’t be for awhile).

He would have had some workouts and tryouts, but who knows if his game is the same as it was after a year with UConn, and I'd say it's almost certain he doesn't get drafted at all.

Not that the only way to develop is going to UConn, but there's almost no way to argue he didn't help himself with that year at UConn.

You’re right. Playing on a national championship team with 2 lottery picks didn’t help..my bad

Scouts spend just as much time scouting Latvia jr league as they do top 5 college teams

I think these two are entertaining as can be, and have unique stories. They look like investment bankers. Humans like a good story.

I know the Thompson twins are great basketball players, but there isn't much to get all that excited about there.

They made one of the most popular sports movies ever about a walk on college football player.

Curious what brothers in the NBA you think they would choose to make a movie on instead of them?

Cam was first team all-MIAA as an attackmen in high school too. One of the best two or three leagues in America. Crazy sliding doors moment for him because he could have played college lacrosse at any of the tier one programs and he went to play Patriot League basketball. Wild to think that 6 years later he's hitting 7 threes in an NBA game.

Hunter playing with J Ross energy right now. Really solid game from him.

Knicks played with more energy in the 4th and Wemby was on the bench too long.

Wemby is shooting the Spurs out of the game. Why is he shooting those. His usage down the stretch is basketball malpractice

When you're 7'4" deep fade aways and threes isn't your superpower down late. Spurs did nothing but jack threes down stretch.

Spurs lost that game getting punked on the boards, barring injury it would be a massive disappointment if the Knicks don't make the Finals, deepest and most talented team in the East. Spurs have to find an upgrade at the PF spot, Harrison Barnes showed these last 2 games that his regular season 3pt shooting is fools gold, he looked 2016 NBA Finals Barnes.

Fox for Franz Wagner is a very easy move for the Spurs to make. Gianna’s is also there.

Just so easy for them to upgrade and get more talented in places that needed.

I think them looking like investment bankers definitely have something to do with the interest. Cause, America.

If people want to watch a movie about two brothers who are bench players and end of the draft picks over twins who are lottery picks and one a blossoming star then that’s a sign of a different issue.

The Thompson twins are also great and funny personalities. I’ll chalk this up to this being a UConn board for these takes though.

What on earth are you talking about?
