Alright i’ll unpack this. First off, runs like a gazelle is not how anyone would describe Clingan. He moves well for his size, but that’s simply a misrepresentation of his qualities. Secondly, DC didn’t dunk everything and many on here including myself wished he would have dunked more, you can go back and watch the tape if you’d like.

Lastly, I am not dying on any hill about our players not being as good as they are. I am dying on the hill that DC and Duren are not similat players whatsoever. That’s like say Ja and Luka are similar because they both play PG. Anyone can see this, but you have a warped vision of everything you evaluate. I don’t know how to get through to you.

The only thing stopping from Clingan playing like/better than Duren is mindset. Duren’s only focus is controlling the paint at all times. Clingan had that mindset here, but in Portland he’s drifting to try and show he can do other unnecessary things that doesn’t take advantage of the fact he’s 7’2 with a 7’7 wingspan.

The only people who are impressed by Clingan shooting 3s are nerds who’ve never played organized basketball in their life. But want to try to “get through” to somebody.

I’m usually not but this place makes it easy when all everyone knows how to do is look at a computer and say players should take the laziest shot in basketball no matter who they are.
 
Steph keeps turning it over. Getting caught in the air, bad passes, etc. Getting a bit frustrating to watch.

Just hit a three which was big. I think he just locks onto the pass he wants to make and defense has begun to read it. Learning curve playing more PG but a lot of these are very avoidable turnovers.

Spencer with a great little 3-minute stretch against Golden State. A couple 3s, an assist on the break, a hockey assist after breaking down the D. Just doing Cam things.

Am I crazy for thinking a 6'6 220lb Jrue Holiday would be awesome? Jrue is what, 6'3 or 6'4? He was averaging like 20/5/8 at his peak.

Clingan running like a gazelle is a hysterical comparison. His conditioning is his worst quality on the court probably. Derek Lively is someone I'd say "runs like a gazelle"

Duren is probably the physically strongest guy currently in the league and a great combination of size and athleticism. Not awywhere near as good as them but probably the closest guy playing today to Dwight Howard or The Admiral in terms of pure strength and athleticism and he plays with arguably the best passer/playmaker in the league in Cunningham. I only have Jokic over him in that regard. That's why they're about the best pick and roll threat going and the best alley oop tandem in the league.

Comparing him and his situation to Clingan's is insane but this is what Huskywarrior does and he always carries a shovel to do more digging.

Putting down Jrue and just assuming Steph will be far clear of him is one of the funniest parts of his argument. The guy says he knows/plays ball more than anyone here yet disrespects one of the most well respected guys in the league. Hilarious.

Clingan helped Grant have so much spacing here. He didn’t get in the way of other much better 3 point shooters or anything.

Yes him being in a position the defenders have to account for and respect him would’ve been better than being in a position where they are literally ignoring him.

But yay, he hits 1-2 3s a game that defenders want him to take so they can do stuff like pack the paint hoping he takes another.

Spacing is undeniably bad there, but that is where the coach wants him. DC had 16-14 with 2 blocks, 2 assists and a steal in 26 minutes of a win. DC was 8-9 in the paint (should have been 8-8 as he was fouled on his one miss but it wasn't called, horrid no-call), but 0-3 from three.

Duren had 8-7 in 21 minutes against the Cavs in a loss.

My point here is, it's a long season, let it play out.

Yeah I’m not saying Duren is a better player. I think Clingan is fully capable of being a better player if he focused more on what was effective for him today. Which was shooting almost 100% in the paint.

Almost like that should get all of his focus and energy the same way it does for Duren.

Appreciate you being honest and reasonable about what happened in that picture.
 
Clingan had 16 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks on 8-12 (0-3 from 3). Outplayed Ayton for sure

Drummond had 4 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks in 23 minutes off the bench

Castle had 22 points on 50%, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, but another high turnover game with 5. 1-4 from three and 9-14 FTs

Nets got blasted but Tyrese had 11 points in 23 bench minutes (3-8 from three)

Hawkins scoreless on 0-5 shooting in 15 minutes. Starting to get concerned he‘ll be glued to the bench when Dejounte comes back. He has not had a good start to the season at all

Cam with 11 points in 14 minutes. 3-3 from three and 2-2 from the line. Also chipped in 3 assists and 2 rebounds
